In the morning of 01 June, Russei Keo authority and SRP officials clashed at the entrance to the Chrauy Changvar Bridge, located in Chrauy Changvar commune, Russei Keo district, because the SRP insisted on raising its party sign at that location. The Koh Santepheap newspaper reported the Russei Keo authority prevented this sign raising by claiming that the SRP did not have the authorization for it, however, about 10 SRP activists, including SRP MPs Son Chhay, Ho Vann and Sok Soty protested and tried to raise the sign. This led to the clash, but no serious injuries were sustained on either side. A source indicated that after the authority confiscated the SRP sign, SRP activists tied the party flag and the national flag on a pole that still remained there, but the authority took them down and confiscated the two flags about one hour later. SRP MP Sok Soty said that he asked for the authorization from the city hall for about one month already to install the party sign at that location, but the city hall did not provide any response to this request. After a long wait, the SRP decided to raise the sign and their action resulted in the authority preventing them from setting up this sign.
