VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet and Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni shared satisfaction over the growing friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries at their meeting in Hanoi on June 24.
They also shared pleasure at the two countries’ cooperation that has been strengthened in all fields to contribute actively to each country’s growth and to peace, stability, cooperation and development in Southeast Asia and the world.
President Triet said he believed King Norodom Sihamoni’s visit would create strong driving forces to bring the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia to new heights for the sake of development and prosperity of each country, and peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
He lauded the Cambodian people for immense achievements they have recorded in the national construction under the clear-sighted leadership of King Norodom Sihamoni and wished them to obtain greater successes and successfully build their country of peace and prosperity.
On this occasion, the Vietnamese President gave profound thanks to the former King Norodom Sihanouk, King Norodom Sihamoni and the Cambodian people for their sentiments and valuable assistance and support for Vietnam in the past struggle for national independence and then the current national building and development.
President Triet reiterated Vietnam’s consistent policy of always treasuring and enhancing the traditional solidarity and friendship and neighbourliness with Cambodia.
For his part, King Norodom Sihamoni expressed his deep gratitude to the Vietnamese Party, Government and people for their past and present wholehearted support and valuable assistance.
The Cambodian King stated he will follow ex-King Norodom Sihanouk and ex-Queen Monineath Sihanouk to consolidate and further develop the existing growing friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and Vietnam.
King Norodom Sihamoni highly valued the successes the Vietnamese people have made in the renewal course and socio-economic development performance and wished to see bigger achievements in Vietnam in the future.

The Cambodian General’s seven-day visit aims to boost friendship relations and mutual understanding between the two countries’ armed forces and people, as well as the relationship between the Cambodia National Defence University and the Vietnam Institute of National Defence.
The Cambodian General thanked the Vietnamese lieutenant-general for his reception and expressed his pleasure to visit and work in Vietnam.
