Cambodian gov't leaders should change their course of action: Op-Ed by Uon Sim

"To the opposite of the Yuon and Siem governments which always demand territories and do whatever they can so that their people have land to live on, how about the Cambodian government? Why is it always threatening its own people instead? What is the nationality of those in the Cambodian government? Are they crazy or normal? You represent the government of a country, you should please your people, you should help your own people, but quite to the contrary, you ended up pleasing the Yuons who are swallowing Khmer territories instead. Just look at the Yuons who came illegally to live on Khmer land, what damage does this cause to Cambodia? Why are you only clever in performing misdeed? This is what I call “the useless birds perching on the ‘Po’ tree eating the ‘Chrey’ fruit”! Come to think of it, why are there so many of these birds in Cambodia?"

Ambassador Hem Heng and I - Encounter of The Weirdest Kind

To the surprise of many, Ambassador Hem Heng's presence was announced at a private party here in Washington D.C.

A senior Khmer-American, on his way to the dance floor,
swung by and asked: are you a CPP(er)- Hun-Sen(ist) Mr. Ambassador?

"No, I am neutral" replied Ambassador Hem Heng.

The senior man then followed up in French - Vous êtes sûr? (Are you sure?)
Ambassador Hem Heng grinned and then answered back in French - Suis sûr! (Am sure).

The senior Khmer-American shook his head in disbelief while moving on to join the crowd for a Khmer Romvong (circle dancing?)....Tak ting noy noy!
