VietNamNet Bridge - "It is necessary to put warning images on cigarette packets to protect the community's health," said a seminar held by the Vietnamese Health Ministry and the Southeast Asia Tobacco Control Alliance in Hanoi on Sept. 26.
Representatives from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam reached consensus on the printing of warning of health damages on cigarette packets in the hope of helping their citizens being aware of tobacco's harmful effects and reducing smoking in their countries.
Many experts agreed that this is an effective method as each smoker who consumes one packet per day would have to see warning images at least 7,000 times per year.
Vietnamese tobacco smokers burn VND 8.2 trillion ($513 million) each year. According to the University of Public Health's recent research, Vietnam has to spend 804 billion VND (50 million VND) or 18 percent of its yearly expenses on health service for treatment of three typical smoking diseases, including lung cancer and coronary.
Another survey conducted by Dr Nguyen Duc Chinh of the National Institute of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease revealed that more than half of the smokers said they paid no attention of the current warning message on cigarette packets. Almost half of surveyed women smokers and more than 40 percent of adolescents gave similar answers.
Meanwhile, 80 percent of the national population, including smokers and non-smokers, voiced their support to the warning image that is as big as half of the cigarette packet's size, according to the Vietnam Association of Standards and Consumers Protection's survey.

You got two good reasons to really worry about Mr!
1. Is your well being, because lung cancer is coming.
2. You need to keep a good eyes on your stupid Governor at Kos Pos. With $300M bucks, they could easily allow the Russian to establish base for their continental or long range missile that could seriously injure your best friend Hanoi and us!. You'd better realy worry about this one. You need to redirect that dump Governor to invest our island with other people instead. Unless otherwise you people are aiming a secret base for attacking The American instead. Do I sence a dangerous game or what?
It's funny to know that your fine partner Viet didn't give you any advice to say No to The Russian and the $300M for owning our Kos Pos. Please don't forget that corrupted CPP millionaires have more choice than poor average Cambodian people because these corrupted CPP milliionaires can choose to leave Cambodia and live in other country in a heartbeat and while poor Cambodian people are force to stay to pick up the pieces!

Over the years there seems to be eurphoria about Cambodia as a country making alot progress because Cambodia don't have war! But AH HUN SEN dictatorship can cause the same damage as war but in form of poverty, poor healthcare,no respect for human right,no independent court system, and lack of freedom of speech! Any kind of foreign aids are only used to support AH HUN SEN's dictatorship!
