In the extended interview with VOA Khmer Service, FUNCINPEC Secretary General, Nhek Bun Chhay defends the decision made by the party’s extraordinary congress on Wednesday, October 18th saying that the removal of Prince Norodom Ranariddh was within legal guidelines.
Moreover, Nhek Bun Chhay states that according to article 22 of FUNCINPEC bylaw, the party’s president and or one third of the national council members can call for a party congress.
Meanwhile, Prince Norodom Ranariddh claimed that the action taken by the congress in ousting him was in fact illegal.

Indeed I don't like Rannarith at all for his animal mentality toward Cambodian people and Cambodia national interest. He has breached all the trusts, Cambodian people have given to him. But he has acted as Robber, a chef, national treason, etc.. his charactere is lower that any animal on earth. But for the truth. Law is law. If during extra-ordinary congress, the organisers didn't invited him for this congress than, his removal is illegal. It was a coup. A coup is also acceptable for any National to remove a leader. But if we accepte this coup, we must make sure than Hun Sen will be the same if CPP choose to do on him. No war OK
Bun Chay, after returning from O Smach, had sworn himself that he can't play deadly game with Hun Sen again. Bun Chay has been living in a vivid, frightening,and nightmare memory of being chased by Hun sen's loyal troops on July 07, 1997. He decided that if he can't win the game so he join the winner.
Bun Chhay was a hero in July 7 1997 but money and power offer by Hun Sen, he will be the same Hong Hout, He will lost everything after Hun Sen see he is not useful for him any more, People in Funcinpec party never learn for what CPP and Hun Sen did to them in the past including the prince himself when get money and power Hun Sen, he left Sam Rainsy, Forget about 73 points that him and Sam Rainsy fight so hard to benefit the Cambodia people and Country and now look after Hun Sen kick him out he start call for Cambodia people to fine for his justice, this we call that like father like son is the father not strong and good the son will do what they whant,
The future of Nhek Bun Chhay will like the way of Ieng Moly, Ing Huot, Tun Chay ond other, why?? because all of them are the persons who only love monies not love Cambodian. NBCHHhas a little bit to know Hun Sen hahahahahehehe
