Lawyers representing former Phnom Penh police chief Heng Pov completed their arguments against his deportation to Cambodia before the Malaysian High Court on Friday, a lawyer for the fugitive said. Judge Abdul Kadir Musa has said he will decide on the case no later than Dec 15, lawyer Ahmad Shukor said by telephone. Lawyers for the Malaysian government Wednesday will begin their response to arguments that Heng Pov's detention has been irregular and unconstitutional and that he should be deported to Singapore, not Cambodia, the lawyer said. "They have indicated they will be brief," he added.
