Comfrel criticizes the NEC

The committee for Free and Fair Elections (Comfrel) has criticized the National Election Committee (NEC) of failing to stop the CPP campaigning for the upcoming commune election prior to the designated start date of the election campaign. Comfrel said that the NEC did not issue a clear directive telling the political parties that the election campaign activities must not start until 16 March. Comfrel said that this shortcoming allows the CPP to start its election campaign ahead of the designated date while other parties are prevented to do so. Comfrel is also accusing the CPP of holding its election campaign using state and private media, and that the NEC has turned a blind eye on these activities while claiming that it has no right to stop such campaigning. Tep Nytha, NEC’s secretary-general, said the commune election law does not prevent anyone from campaigning before 16 March at all.

What??? There is no law on that,so why not create one then. Or people can just campaign anytime? It is so mess up!
