On 18-19 March 2007, the opposition party called on people to stop supporting political parties that are involved in corruption, and to switch their support to the opposition party instead.
This political attack occurred on 19 March during opposition leader Sam Rainsy’s campaign in a number of districts in the province of Kratie.
Sam Rainsy said that the corruption of the current ruling party is the cause of the current unacceptable salary of teachers and civil servants.
Sam Rainsy said: “Teachers, police officers, soldiers, civil servants, when Sam Rainsy was the Minister of Economy and Finance, I raised their salaries, but now when the teachers ask for a salary raise, the current government say that it does not have money. For sure it does not have the money, because it is corrupt, it swallows everything [for itself] and there’s nothing left to raise the salary. You may ask: how did Sam Rainsy get the money to raise teacher’s salary? It came from the eradication of corruption, with a small eradication at the higher level, I was able to gather a lot of funds to help poor people at the lower level [of society],” Sam Rainsy said.
In seeing that corruption causes more and more hardships on the population, maintains a high price of gasoline, causes agricultural products to lack market because the middlemen lower the crop prices any way they want, Sam Rainsy told the people to vote for the Sam Rainsy Party in order to change their living conditions. “Don’t be fooled by the CPP anymore. Our money was by the millions, by the hundreds of thousands [that they took], they give us gifts worth dimes and pennies. If they give you anything, take it because it’s our money, it’s from the money they stole from us, the money they fooled us. Whatever they give, take them all, but when it comes time to vote, vote for Sam Rainsy instead.”
Kham Phoeun, the Kratie provincial governor and who is also in charge of the CPP in the province, gave an interview where he said that on 18 and 19 March, he knew that Sam Rainsy had attacked the CPP about corruption, about land sales, about the high price of gasoline, about the low crop price, in many places in the Kratie province. He said that, however, this tactic is already known beforehand, and this strategy will not seep much into the people, because it is the same story over and over.
Kham Phoeun only said that if the government is corrupt, donor countries will not continue giving aid still. “About corruption, they will see who is a good person and who is not, [for example] in a village, people know, if they let you borrow money, then you take it to gamble, will they let you borrow anymore? If the government is corrupt, do you think the donor countries will provide aid and money? How will they give? That’s because they look at the aid they provide, they follow up on their aid, like this, you cannot do anything with it.”
On 18 March, Sam Rainsy held election campaign from Snuol district all the way to Kratie city. On 19 March, he was also campaigning in Chrauy Banteay and Russei Keo communes, Prek Prasob district. At each location, between 350 to 500 people participated [in the campaign rally].

Donor countries don't care shit about Cambodia. The reason why they're giving aids to Cambodia is because they feel guilty for leaving Cambodia alone under the Khmer Rouge killing regime. For them, the sooner Cambodia is destroyed the better so they don't have to give aids anymore.
You should look through to the donors aid to Cambodia. How many percent that the current ruling party use to develop the country?
Most of khmer people get poorer and poorer. A large amount of money has gone into the pockets of the current cuoruption government, CPP and the puppet FUNCINPEC.
So we have to kick they out, and select the new one who always assist the poor.
