SRP: Millions of Cambodians Still Don't Have ID Card

On 31 July 2007 , Opposition Leader Sam Rainsy wrote to Interior Minister Sar Kheng asking the Government to provide ID card to all Khmer citizens, meaning all the eight million eligible voters, before the 27 July 2008 National Assembly election. Contrary to the Government's claim, several millions eligible voters still don't have ID card, which led to serious and massive irregularities related to the delivery of substitute voter identification document (Form 1018) at the 1 April 2007 commune council election. Such irregularities must stop for next year's election. Those citizens who don't have their ID card yet should be asked to show up and to apply, so as to check the Government's claim and to redress the situation.

Dear SRP party here my questions: If our beloved Cambodian can not afford to pay the fee,do you party have the ideas to help them? If our beloved Cambodian are living very far from the voting station what is SRP party idea to help them? If Sor Kheng making the obstacles to delay or dismiss the identification for 8 million voters until after 2008 what is the Sam Rang Sy party plan to help our beloved Cambodian?
