The Cambodia Daily reported that the lawsuit brought by Heng Pov, the former Phnom Penh police commissioner, against 3 high-ranking Malaysian officials for illegally sending him back to Cambodia in great haste, has been dismissed by Malaysia highest court in a decision handed on Tuesday. The 3 officials are let go free from the accusation because the court claimed that there is no sufficient evidence to send to jail or fine these Malaysian officials. N. Sivananthan, the Malaysian lawyer representing Heng Pov, said that this decision put an end to the legal venue which started 8 month ago. Khieu Sopheak, spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, declined to comment on the Malaysian court decision, but he said that the Cambodian police had acted honorably. “We didn’t do anything against the Malaysian law or the Cambodian law,” Khieu Sopheak said. SRP MP Son Chhay said the Malaysian court did not answer a narrow legal question: “We ask why Heng Pov was deported back to Cambodia against his will. This is an answer that the Malaysian government must explain”.

I must congratulate Mr Son Chhay for his professionalism in politic for asking Malaysia such a question. Heng Pov was a fomer public servant. He must have his right to be protected by all politician when his legal right has been denied by any ruling party. We need to protect him at all cost for his legal right. I really admired Mr Son Chhay for his action. This is how a democracy system should be worked. All policemen must protect the security and the safety of all politicians at the same level regardless of they ruling party or opposition party. They are all representing Cambodian people in Cambodian parliament. But when any policeman is being illegally detained by their boss or by any political party because he has not listend to that party to conduct any illegal actvities against the will of the Nation or to another party. Policeman must be neutral and independent from political party. Areak Prey

This is political in nature to protect the Malaysia court and the Cambodian government from further embarrassment. It is easy way out and there is no justice in Malaysia court system. They took 8 months, after so many delays to think, about it.

Heng Peo ought appeal this case to at least get the truth out, to why Malaysian court officials sent him without due court process in such a secret and arranging way; as if they already know what to do for the Cambodia government with the plan awaiting him?

Ofcourse this is politics. It proves that Maylasia also have a "kangaroo court". In fact most if not all of the joking group, ASEAN have a kangaroo court.
