The SRP is preparing for the upcoming general election with the election of party officials. Sam Rainsy shows his political program and criticizes his competitors.

Sam Rainsy was re-elected as SRP President during the party 4th National Congress which was held in Phnom Penh this weekend. During this occasion, he ardently criticized the ruling party, in front of his party members, for the illegal immigration and territorial integrity issues. Claiming that his party constitutes the only political opposition party, Sam Rainsy called on people to vote for him. “Vote for the SRP, you will obtain three essential items: jobs, reasonable gasoline and farm fertilizers price, and free healthcare,” Sam Rainsy promised from the podium in front of thousands of party supporters.

Sam Rainsy once again underscored that Cambodian people have only two choices during the upcoming election: the CPP and his party, the SRP. Regarding the other political parties, the SRP leader did not forget to indirectly criticize Kem Sokha’s HRP and the NRP. “Some minor parties are puppet, they are fireflies, don’t pay attention to them. The SRP is on the only credible opposition,” Sam Rainsy pounded.

During the party congress, party members gave their support to the leading team by re-electing Sam Rainsy as party president, Kong Korm, as party vice-president, and Eng Chhay Eang, who resigned two years ago, as the new party secretary-general, whereas Mu Sochua, which was the outgoing secretary-general, is becoming the new deputy secretary-general.

French MP Thierry Mariani of the UMP party (ruling party in France), was also present during this occasion. He addressed the crowd by saying that his party supports the SRP political programs and he also wished the SRP success (for the 2008 general election).

I used to hate the Frenchman for handing over the Khmer Kampuchea Krom to the Vietcong but not anymore thank to the French MP Thierry Mariani of the UMP party (ruling party in France)for supporting SRP political programs!

This is the study case to think:

HERE IN USA, CAMBODIAN WOMEN TEND TO TAKE CAUCASIAN MEN AS THEIR PARTNERS AFTER THEY DIVORCED THEIR HUSBANDS.

CAMBODIAN POLITICIANS TEND TO SHOW OFF THIER POLITICAL PALFTFORM TO THEIR SUPPORTS BY INVITING FOREIGN MPs OR EXPATRIATES.

THROW YOUR COMMENTS. ALL THESE GOOD THINGS? DEPEND ON EACH CASE?

" Almost " alway the result of our beloved country destruction is due to foreigners !!
They are the french, vietnam, Thai, china, and during the pol pot error is mostly due to the u.s admin at that time. SO, to see a frenchmen supporting the SRP is a good thing. BUT these country owed it to cambodia to help us restored our country.

It been past due, that these foreigner time to un-do that was wrongly done to cambodia.

Cambodian women in the US like to remarry with the White guy, but I found no analogy to SRP which had invited a French politician to participate in its Cogress. Some women who got maried to American men want to show they are prestigeous than thier friends, but most of them have experienced with culture shorck and disatisfaction. They orverestimate the foreigners; they have exspected too much from them. When they don't get what they have espected, they become depressed and remored for their life. Is it a showcase or a showdown? For the SRP, an invitation of the French politician to attend its Congress is tatally not a showcase, but it shows a solidarity between the two political parties which have the same priciple and political program. This is not new in political arena; every political party around the world like to make friendship with each other it has similar ideology. For example, the CPP has a close relationship with Vietnamese, Chinese, and Laos Communist parties. This is not a showcase but a marriage of convenience, in term of international relations. There is absolutely no analogy between the Khmer women who prefer to remarry with American men and the SRP which had invited a French politician to attend its Cogress.
