The Sam Rainsy Party, the largest opposition party in Cambodia, called for several days of extension in the review of the voting list and the broadcast calling for the voting registration.

The proposal, advanced by Sam Rainsy on Saturday, was made after the progress of the review of the voting list by the public ended on 20 October.

At a press conference held on 27 October, Sam Rainsy proposed: “We demand for an extension for a large number of Cambodian people who amount to several hundreds of thousands, who want to register to vote, but they could not do it because the registration period was too short, and also, they met a lot of difficulties as well.”

Mayarith (RFA): You Excellency, how many days of extension did you propose?

Sam Rainsy: “Not just an extension, but there must be an open publication on the modality and the rule for vote registration. Therefore, we demand that there is an open broadcast of the information to facilitate the voting registration, and that there is sufficient time of 2-3 weeks for example, in order to complete this vote registration. They (NEC) should do whatever is needed so that all Cambodian people who want to register to vote, they have the opportunity and the ability to actually register.”

Hey, this is no time for any new proposals. Everything must conform to previous agreement and schedule. This stupid election is expected to cost more than the stupid KR tribunal already. Let's not suck all the blood from Khmer people who don't give a rats ass about this. They only care for job, job, job, and that is the wills of the people.

Gentleman

National election is very crucial for cambodian right to vote.NEC is only to serve cambodians to elect their choices.NEC does not own the national rlection.Any requirements to get the election transparent ought to be concened by human rights . Any manipulative exercise should be condemed . It pays to be independent body so that the messing around and the rihgts abuse corrected.
