The President of the Sam Rainsy Party is currently in France, completing a European visit with the aim of performing political consolidation and to meet Cambodians living abroad.
Opposition leader Sam Rainsy left last week for Europe to visit French political friends, and his overseas supporters. During his trip, he is also attempting to obtain some financial aids for his party, the SRP (Sam Rainsy Party). According to Eng Chhay Eang, SRP Secretary-general, his party counts numerous friends among French politicians, in particular within the UMP (current French ruling party). Also according to Eng Chhay Eang, Sam Rainsy undertook a tour of Europe to obtain support from observers who will be in charge of the general election which is planned for next year. “Sam Rainsy will participate in the election of new party representatives, in some of the European countries, such as Germany and Belgium…,” Eng Chhay Eang explained, while adding that Sam Rainsy will also visit Lyon and Marseille this weekend after visiting Paris, in order to meet with Cambodian communities. Sam Rainsy’s European tour is expected to end in two weeks, at which time he will return back to Cambodia.

Oh nice move by Eng Chhay Eang! What is an idiot? If I were him, I would stay low profile until all the smoke clear up.
