Prince Norodom Ranariddh, President of the Norodom Ranariddh Party (NRP), renewed his call to Sam Rainsy, President of the Sam Rainsy Party (SRP), and Kem Sokha, President of Human Rights Party(HRP), to work together among the royalists and the democrats. Last month, the prince already asked for the formation of a large movement that would unite his party and the other two parties (SRP and HRP).
This time, the prince raised this issue officially to the two other party leaders through a letter dated 15 November 2007. In his letter, Prince Ranariddh said that the NRP advisory committee had unanimously approved in October 2007, for him to have the ability to call for a union between the royalists and the democrats, in order to provide a true alternative choice for Cambodian voters during the upcoming 2008 general election.
In his letter, the prince said: “The NRP and myself, we believe that the votes received by the royalists and the democrats in the past election, clearly show that there cannot be any election victory that could lead to a change, therefore, all of us, both the royalists and the democrats, must unite to provide two choices only: the royalists united with the democrats against the ruling party. These choices are the final and true ones for the Cambodian voters, and this also constitutes the desire of the Khmer people who usually vote for all of us.”
The proposal of the prince met with the support from the HRP. Kem Sokha said that his party supports the unification, but that it must be based on democracy, and the power should not rest on any individual. Keo Remy, HRP vice-president, said on Sunday also that his party agrees with the prince’s proposal, but that it must be done with democratic goals. Keo Remy said that all these goals include: (1) a 2-term limit for the party president, and (2) an agreement not to use a person’s name as the party’s name.
Muth Chantha, NRP spokesman, said that the prince raised this issue with the aim of uniting the royalists and the democrats. He added that the prince’s wish is to form a large political party.
Muth Chantha added that if we continue to be divided, the votes will also be divided, regardless of either the royalist or the democratic parties. Regarding the conditions imposed by HRP, Muth Chantha said that his party cannot say yet if it will agree to these conditions or not. However, he told The Cambodia Daily that: “Nevertheless, Prince Ranariddh has agreed in principle to the term limit set for the party president.”
As for the SRP, its party leader seems not to pay too much attention to the prince’s proposal. Sam Rainsy told RFA on 17 November 2007, that he does not pay attention to it because the SRP forms the core of the democratic force, and that now, at the grass root levels, large numbers of supporters from other parties have joined the SRP.
Sam Rainsy added: “Therefore, what’s important is for all (other) party activists and members to come and join the SRP, and we don’t need any alliance, we don’t need any discussions of the top level (leaders), no need for discussions at the cloud (level), we work at the grass root level, we are present at the grass root levels, we create an alliance throughout the country. Therefore, the force that we set up at the grass root levels, this is force that leads to victory.”

This guy is Royal disloyal. I don't trust him a bit. He is only trying to consul when he has no cards to play. He creates his own reputation and has to deal with it. He is willing to sell his name for the name of politics. You cannot have both ways my friends either you are real or not real for the people and the nation.
The best way to win the 2008 election is by assasinating Hun San. Cut off his head and penis and hang it in front of the Independence Monument. After that people will vote for the SRP or other parties like crazy. Without Hun San gone, people are too afraid to vote for any other parties. Forget about uniting the democrates & royalists shit because it will never work. The leaders of these parties care more about themselves than the country they represent so any idea of power sharing will only bring disaster consequences.
United will not work in this case. I don't all the party leaders are mature enough to unite and work together as yet. They are only trying to piggy back on the others then bullshit their way out. For now it might be better to let them work and grow individually.
This stupid guy needs to shut up. Why are you so stupid? You let hun sen control the country. Now, it is very hard to get that guy out from controlling Cambodia. You have the PhD, hun sen doesn't even have a diploma, yet you are more stupid than him. You are even more stupid than the kids in junior high. Now, that you don't have any power, and live as small people(your papa like to call Cambodians as small people) in your condominium, you wish for an office in Cambodian government so that you can live a lavish life once again. You use such words as democracy, united, fight for the country. Those words should not be in your vocabulary. Money is the only word you know. So, stop fooling yourself that you can come back to Cambodia. The only time you can come back is to get rid of hun sen and the cpp. Let this teach you Mr.PhD that when you let money lead your life, friend with vietnam and crooks; this is the end result. Now, what's more important to you , your money or your reputation?
This Roun-Na-Lit is being so . . . . (you fill in the word/s as you wish). He asked other parties to joint him, which everyone knows that he got nothing.
NO...not this worthless Prince again...please!
Who would believe a liar twice?
Leave this fucken liar alone and let stay outside the country for the rest of his miserable life! This fool never once run politic like his life depend on it and now his is so fuck up and he deserve every bit of it!
This Rannariddh is a clown. Ironically even this stupid clown has some moron supporters. If the SRP joins with this clown again……..bye, bye SRP you are finish. How on earth is this Rannariddh dares to talk about patriotic….blah..blah…blah…., Rannariddh…..you are worse than Hun Sen……you are simply a dog.
The SRP is about to finish too. Whether joining or not with the CPP in the next government. Joining the the CCP they will have the same feature as FUN. But if they do not join no member will follow their leader except a few (their family connection).
There are reasons that lead to this judment: The so-called democratic SRP is just on the paper or their lips. It's strickly applied for the lowest levels (village, commune, district) but when it come to provincial and national levels they need the intervention from SRP permanent committee members if they want to be selected or elected. This leads to distrust from the SRP supporters, for example the trade unions and teacher association. and others.
The other reason is SRP management is surrounded by crooks who never report the true information to their bosses if they found it will lose their own benefit. The top never has the basis for good judment. The last commune election could be example. Before the election, SRP leader had proudly convinced that they could grab 300 commune chief, it was end up to less than 30. This reflect that only 10 percent of their story or assertion is true.
Now they have claimed the they are cooperative with other party (FUN, HRP) member and cited they have strong base to win the next election. From the above, how much it's reliable..... Time will tell.
This is a guy who is begging for one last breathe. You want to unite when your always out of the country screwing your young wife? To even suggest that, is an insult to SRP, HRP and all the other party. What where your thoughts about the cambodian people when you were flying around in your jets, helicopter, or in that red car??? YOU ARE A STUPID PIG. A WASTE OF SPERM. IF HRP or SRP JOIN THIS NRP, THEN THEY ARE THE SAME. RANADICK That should be your name. HOW MUCH LOWER CAN YOU GO?
He must be kidding! This guy is worst than Hun Sen. He is so corrupt and untrustworthy. Nobody should trust him. He back-stabbed the oppositions when he was in power. He is incompetent and gutless. Stay away from politics if you got have any common sense.
Guys, Ranirith is alright so long you respected him as king. Is that too much to sacrifice for a chance of victory in the 2008's election?
Run Rot is boring with Phalla he remembers about Power !!!!
Worth than Ach Ko !!!
This is the Root of Khmer Royal family !!!
Excellency Bandit General 7 Diamond stars Oknha Achar Knoy
Sam Rainsy don't believe this hyena (The basdard Ranarriddh).
How many time did he betrayed you, his party and the nation? He also cheated on his wife.
There is no point to united with Khem Sokha because Hun Sen paid him to form the HRP.
Ranarith's PhD = Kieu Samphan's PhD = 0
Their brains don't work anymore after the PhD.
People with master's degree from good universities are better and more clever.
True for the west, but not Hanoi.
You cann't kill or cut off Mr. Hun Sen's manhood. That exists only in the dream. The reality is different. You have to respect other people and no matter what and you certainly don't want to be branded as a terrorist, do you? There has to be some other way to win the country and to save the Cambodian people without a war. Where is the advertisement for Sam Rainsey's party? A very powerful advertisement for the whole world to know?!!!!!!!!! and to save or not to save the Monarchy? and do we want our palace to just sit and be an empty place or as a museum? Our palace should occupy by our rightful King & Queen and their princes and princess. Cambodia has beautiful culture. Please don't destroy it, but do eliminate those bad individual. Not all royal are bad.
The Sam Rainsey Party at this time may not have many choises. They need more ballots and how are they going to get more ballots? if they don't accept other people who might not be exactly the same as they do? PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE MISSION AND NOT TOO MUCH ABOUT THE PEOPLE. ISN'T THE SAM RAINSEY PARTY'S MISSION TO BE THE GOVERNMENT IN 2008? Let all get ready!
People can have their subcultures or be different, but the main goal is to create the most prosperous happy and developing Cambodia. Any government that can do it, surely deserve the win the election.
God bless Cambodia!!!!!
Ordinary Khmers
Please read: Any government that can do it, surely deserve to win the election. from 9:53p.m
ok
This guy Rannariddh needs to learn how not to be unstabled. He needs to quit being a politician. He can't do anything just flirting around the women. He needs to take national matters serious. He can't just being the way his attitude is. He needs to set an example to the next generations. Quit it!
I can't believe some fools in here are begging for AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave to be God of Khmer people!
Please remember that AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave government will always be the puppet government installed by the Vietcong since 1979! It doesn't matter which way Khmer people try to look at AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave government and it is still a puppet government installed by the Vietcong! It doesn't matter how some educated fool trying to repackage AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave government with the ribbons and bow tie and it is still a puppet government installed by the Vietcong! It doesn’t matter how many time Khmer people try to slice AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave government to the bone and it is still a puppet government installed by the Vietcong! Any education fool know that a puppet government is installed to serve the foreigner national interest not Khmer people interest!
It is because of this stupid Vietcong slave puppet government that is why Khmer citizen can be deported to be judged in the Vietcong court and to be jailed in Vietname for any misconduct! Now the Khmer constitution doesn't mean a damn thing when it can't even protect the Khmer citizen! Khmer people no longer have dignity as a citizen of Cambodia or dignity as a human being!
I sometime wonder what is being Khmerness! Does being Khmerness is to accept whatever the foreigners force down Khmer people throat? It is kind a sad for me to believe in a stupid concept where only foreign intervention can save or ensure the survival of Cambodia and Cambodian people! If this concept is so true how can Khmer people built the Khmer empire and the Angkor Wat?
I believe in foreign alliance and not in foreign intervention! I believe in independent Cambodia not dependent Cambodia! I believe in elected well educated Khmer leader and not installed Khmer leader by some foreign power! I believe that Khmer people must be judged by the Khmer court and not by the foreigner court! I believe that if Khmer leaders disown the master and slave mentality and only then Cambodia as a nation can move forward!
woooow!
RANARITH YOU SHOULD JUST QUIT POLITIC!
The more you stay the more you will hurt Cambodia and yourself!
We all Cambodian are now obeying our constitution that mean we are now monachist demoncracy! We are not Royal (Royalist?) but sure we are royalism.
Let the job to put the Country together to the King and he is (the king) doing it 1000 time better than you!
Stay out before you may can not even come to see Ankor! there is no 2 king in one country ok for shit priminister but not king!
From some one who graduated from sala wat!
When we fought the Vietnamese troops back in the 80s, we united even with the unthinkable Khmer Rouge faction for the sake of our country. Our adversary has not changed except the clothes they are wearing today.
If we are going to give our country any slim chance of making it through, then we must look at all the possibilities of bring all of us under one umbrella and the person who is qualified most for the leadership job is SAM RAINSY. From being kicked out by Rannarith to eventually formed an official opposition party is not too bad. He is still our best man to work with. We don't agree with all his decisions, but he is still by far a much better person than any of those you can put together. Still very popular inside the country, and for the rest who think that he/she can do better, tell that to the people in Cambodia. They don't even know who the hell any of us is. Let's get Hun Sen and his crooks out of the government first. Please give ourselves a chance. Simple common sense.
Good day gentlemen.
Stop hallucinating, 4:24, Ah Sam Rainsy has no experience in running a country. He'll destroying Cambodia in just a few short years. That much is for sure.
I would still take a chance with Sam Rainsy if he can destroy Cambodia in just a few short years! But AH HUN SEN Vietcong slave have 30 years to destroy Cambodia and still going...on and on!
LMAO!
