Prime minister Hun Sen said on 27 November that if the Cambodian people still keep on voting for him, he will continue to cling on to power for life.
During a speech given at a distribution of certificates for students at the National Education Institute, Hun Sen said that some politicians are trying to prevent him (to remain in power: “I was talking about my age being this and that, then they turned around and said that Mr. Hun Sen, you shouldn’t set the age as the rule to retire. I say that if I remain (in power) for 10 more years, I will only reach the 60s, that’s not old. I tell you back: ‘Anh’ (rude form of I, used to look down on someone else) tell you know, if the people keep on voting for me, ‘Anh’ will remain (PM) for life.”
Hun Sen also criticized a number of politicians but he did not name anyone in particular, he said that those who have dual citizenship still want to present their candidacy to the premiership.
Hun Sen added: “Especially, those with dual citizenship, they will leave, we cannot sentence them. As soon as they are sentenced, they leave immediately, those with dual citizenship should end it, they are not brave, if they come to do politics in Cambodia, they should renounce their other citizenship, but they won’t, what can I do to them?”
Hun Sen also warned that if his party loses the election, he will not build schools anymore: “There is no interruption (in school building) when I am prime minister, but if I am no longer prime minister, I will not build anymore (schools), I am sorry, who you vote for, you should ask that person.”
Kem Sokha, President of the HRP which has a party policy of limiting the term of the prime minister in office, said: “Normally, if there is no term limit for the country leader, we will be faced with dictatorship, corruption, because those leaders can do whatever they want, nobody can limit their power. For example, if there is a two term limit, when a leader is in power, he wouldn’t dare doing anything wrong, because if he does something wrong, at the end of his mandate, when he no longer has power, he will be afraid to be prosecuted.”
Regarding the dual citizenship, Muth Chantha, NRP spokesman, said: “I say that this is not the right time to raise this issue, it’s an old story. The second government of Cambodia is in power for three terms already, and during these 3 mandates, there are people who have dual citizenship who were in top position and in the government also, but there were never any discussions on this issue, this is one point. On the second point, the Cambodian Constitution, which the supreme law of the land, does not forbid anyone who holds dual citizenship from participating or holding position in the government either.”
It is noted that, currently, Cambodia is under preparation for a general election which will take place in 2008.

Shut the FUCK up!!!!!
Ah Thmil Hun Xen!!!!
Anh tha Eng neung Ngoab Tai-horn! doy dai kaun Khmer!!
Brother
Please stop using that cheap language, it does not achieve anything simply it displays irrelevance and insulting khmer intelligence.
Thank you
It not the people who vote for you Mr Hun Sen...you fake and stealing and preventing their votes to stay in power, as you have been for past elections.
If other polician only have "Cambodian" citizenship, YOU Mr. Hun Sen would have instructed to have their "head(s)" place on a CHOPPING bench ages ago. It is with these "dual" citizen that allow the innocent to escape from you IRON fist.
Also may be it time to HANDOVER YOUR Prime minister ROILE to other member of the CPP party. Surely they cant do any worst of a job OF DESTROYING Cambodia then you do right now Mr. Hun Sen.
The electoral system is propotional so it is hard to say that people vote for any individual person. PM should amend the election law to individual candidate rather than proportional system. Then PM can claim that people vote for him or her.
Thanks to the UN laws, Cambodia is now stucked with the one eye evil leader for life. The only way to get rid of this evil doer is to assisinate him. Otherwise, forget about the freedom, forget about the prosperity and forget about the equality. Hun San will continue to rule Cambodia until he has no sperms left in his testicles. That probably means never. Forget about the election because Hun San will do anything to win each and every election and that includes cheating, killing, bribes, sabotage, etc...And even if the opposition wins the election, Hun San will never hand over his power. He will find ways to hold on to power and that usually means war. So it's a lose- lose situation for Cambodians until Hun San is dead. Can 7 million Cambodians kill one Cambodian? Yes, all is needed is currage and determination and sadly most Cambodians don't have that.
Ah Khvang Hun's language is worst than animals. This evil Khvack will go to HELL soon.
Cambodia will be ruled by real Khmer only, and that is PM Hun Sen.
Therefore get lost, you stupid infidels (above).
If I become the King or Prime Minister of Cambodia I'll say Anh the same as Sam Dach Hun Sen Onhcheing.comment by Boston Celtics Resident.
Okay, let us know when that happened!
Yes PM Hun San khmer but his brain is Viet he is Viet slave and he hand Cambodia to Vietnam 11:28AM why you blind like your master Hun both site or just exactly one?
Why these people become quite invective in their written language in lieu of having a cogent debate.
Very disappointingly sad!
Dear Samdach HUN SEN, I understand that building school is the task of the government. It is not your task, if you would continue to do so it means that you are walking to the jail. Ask the graduatee in front of you "WHY?". If they can not understand they are holding HUN SEN disploma, not the education disploma !!!!
1:36, we are not blind. It is you who suffered from WDS (Westerner Delusion Syndrome) from living in the west for so long.
Talking about Hun Sen's diploma
It's a cheap and nasty diploma, especially those coming from CUP University...
If he remains PM for life , at his dead, people will take his corpse to the trial ( for sure)!!!
Well, that is still a lot better than degree from Berkley, Harvard, ..., or Yale.
Damn what kind of ignorance ?
For those who have degrees from Berkley (California), Harvard or Yale, in the event of economic hardship or unemployment, you all welcome to work in rice paddy in Cambdia.
The President of the United States,George W. Bush, graduated from Yale (has the cat got his tongue), because I can bearly understand what he says. If the president of the United States unable to grammarically put sentences together during speaking or conversation (without his speech writers accompanied him), how do we know that you people (who pretend to be Americans, although you're Khmer)can speak the English language without someone strangely look at you and say "What do say" or "Say again."
Perhaps most of you need another 30 years to comfortably assimulate or accustome in the Western culture.
MOI
Hmm... I don't know if those Berkley, Harvard, or Yale people would qualified to work in our rice paddy right after graduation, 5:02. I think they should start out with basic job such as collecting human waste from the countryside ship pit first.
Okay! We'll call it an "entry" position for newbies and neo-socialist if they qualified for this position.
MOI
The aneke cheoun khmer don't know a lot about Cambodia, otherwise they wouldn't blast Hun Sen like this. George Bush isn't the brightest bulb in the country either, and he became president. Whether you like Hun Sen or not, the country is better off with him than with anybody else. You can't have real democracy overnight, it takes a long time to evolve. No Sam Rainsy could hold together the government with its buddy-buddy system. The whole administration would collapse if you tried to weed out the corruption over the short term. The royal candidates are all a joke. So forget about them. So whether you like it or not, you need Hun Sen to prevent the country sliding into complete chaos, because that's what's going to happen if you elect someone else now. You got to wait another 10 - 15 years for things to change. Believe me I have seen it in other Asian countries.
You go, mate!
11:10 PM,
Thank you very much, sir! May I take an early retirement from this forum?
I better stick around with these insects to ensure that they are not get carried away.
Again, thank you!
MOI (CPP '08)
MOI ...
Your saying those that got degrees from the western country should work in the rice fields. May I ask if you got any and from where? I bet those people are making boat loads of money here in the western country.
I`m sure your degree is from Viet nam since they like to give out to those that slave under them. Your degree would be how to steal more lands from the poor countrymen, How to look down on people.
Poke fun on Mr. Bush and the western all you want. But you are no different than the middle eastern who despise the west but would love to come to the west, get educated and decide to live here forever because it is great out here.
Remember...If you are that smart just by the way you TRY to write on here, why are`nt you in Cambodia working in the Govt. Become a big shot like the other CPPS? Your english lanuage is written very well, so you must be educated here in the west because in Cambodia it would have sounded more like Europeans. I know been there and even work for the NGOS.
By the way...you support the CPPS right??? How come you are not holding a high ranking position? Your just a slave like everyone you have mention..very sad.
To 11:10PM!
You got King Sihanouk syndrome! Ahhaahhahahahh
When King Sihanouk was in power and most Cambodian people would think that without King Sihanouk and Cambodia will be in deep shit and that is why older Cambodian generation still reveres him as King-Father or God-King! And now Cambodia stuck with AH HUN SEN for 30 years and a new mindset is developing among dirt poor Cambodian people that AH HUN SEN maybe the next King-Father! Ahhahahhaha!
It is not hard to condition Cambodian people to think like animal or even a prisoner or even a follower! This is what you called mental conditioning by rewarding! Hey! More dry noodles, a bag of rice, one sarong, a bottle of fish sauce...wouldn’t harm them! Ahahhahahha
By the way, you are such a fool to compare President Gorge Bush to a dictator!
That was quite of cabbage there!
Don't worry! My position is safe and secured, because I konw who liberated me from the massacre (Samdach Hun Sen, that is).
MOI
Ok! HUN SEN is your God but your God obey another God which is the Vietcong but the Vietcong God is the one who created the Khmer Rouge monster which kill Cambodian people! Ahahhhahah
Go ahead worship your idol!
You people never be thankful for anything!
MOI
Sorry MOI Khmer Rouge was also falling apart by the time Viet Cong invaded us. Yes I am thankful. But that doesnt mean we just need another dictator.
And yes your just ordinary like us. You claim to support CPP. I wonder if you are actually a memeber? CPP don`t give a rant about you anyway. Your not part of the pure breed colonies. LOL Haha...just a wanna be...?
hey ah moi. let put your intelligence in good use. don't be a fool with no self control. if anything i learn from you is you have no head. you can write but you can't think. whoever you bought you, you did not get a good deal. you have just dug yourself a whole with the deal. fool!
Folks! I don't like to repeat myself here! Of course, you do understand.
I'm relatively blissful and elated the fact that we're only exchanging words during the debate (here in forum); however, had we been exchanging bullets --by this time--my bullets would have depleted, and too much blood scattered. Thus, let's keep our debate clean.
It is critically imperative that you do not misapprehend with the fact that if you pushed me (or other CPP supporter (s)), I will push you back (hard mercilessly). As I have previously informed you that I don't typically scratch my ass, unless it itches. And, I don't customarily dance without music. You see, you and I are coming from different world.
Moreover, as I have told you that oil and water do not mix well together. Further, I'm not a cup of tea for "X" or "Ism" when it comes to writing, because I dislike to display my bias or stereotype through these characters.
More importantly, my job security has been taken care of, as well as my personal safety (when I’m in Cambodia, I do have my bodyguards with me because I don’t like people like Mr. Rainsy to follow me). Thus, I don't have to listen to you people to tell me what I should or should not do. Also, I don't need to kowtow anyone for any position to secure a job here in the United States or in Cambodia. And I don’t like to be hired by a big shot company or corporate because of tokenism. I’m quite certain that some of you who are currently residing in the United States got your jobs secured because of tokenism. Through this process, it makes the company looks good to have you (refugees/immigrants) as new additions to the company; also, your ethic colorful background enhances the company’s images, although you’re unconsciously know it. So, you people are nothing, but slaves of your own ignorance. And your ignorance amuses me all the time.
For me, I always like to be in enigmatically and unostentatiously inconspicuous.
Until then… you’re not my friend and I’m not your friend. And let’s keep it that way!
MOI
stop licking ass ah moi!
OMG! Mr. MOI, please stop barking, no one has enough time to analise your explaination but they know without any doubt that your are just a real (Pkap Mouk) CPP supporter.
I'm beginning to like this place now.
MOI
AH MOI (More Of Insanity) like to repeat himself because he is a fucken robot!
A stupid robot that is!
Dear John:
We need your support for the CPP Party for the upcoming general election in 2008.
Thank you for your unflinching support for the CPP Party.
Victory will prevail.
MOI
John Doe?
12:14 PM:
3:56 PM:
Yes, whenever you think of MOI, think of robots.
Here's a short story for you: one day this KI client (like yourself) asked me this question: "You know, robots can do practically anything, but they cannot have sex." Then I turned around and told this fellow: Sure robots can have sex, but it's not enjoyable. In essence, I am the robot. And with you people--it is not enjoyable.
Anti-KI Clients!
MOI
MOI=Man of idiot
5:59 PM:
No!
MOI is a man of integrity and a man of intelligence, and a man of information!
MOI
Perhaps some of the KI clients' need to be washed with soap for that profanity that's coming out from that stinking mouth.
The truth of the matter is you will never have a plausible debate or discussion here, because these people have problems with their mouth. That's why I decided to treat them like dirt.
MOI
