Sam Rainsy announces the launch of the SRP Youth Movement

TO ALL SRP MEMBERS AND SUPPORTERS

I have the honor and the pleasure to inform you that the new SRP Youth Movement has been launched with the holding of elections in every commune to democratically choose SRP Youth leaders starting from the grassroots level up to the national level.

Following my appeal, the response from our Youth has been very enthusiastic nationwide. In many communes, more than a hundred (the minimum required is thirty) young Cambodians, between 16 and 30 years old, registered as SRP Youth Movement members and took part in elections in their respective communes. Nearly half of the elected leaders (Presidents and Vice-Presidents) so far, are female, which is very encouraging with regard to gender parity for Cambodia's future leadership.

Above all, we are very proud of the quality of the newly elected Youth leaders in terms of level of education and dedication for the common good.

We plan to hold meetings, discussions and elections in practically all Cambodia's 1,621 communes.

I call on the Cambodian Youth abroad to get democratically organized in all countries where there are large Cambodian communities and to closely work with the Cambodian Youth in Cambodia within our great SRP family.

Warmest greetings,

Sam Rainsy

Cordiales salutations,

Sam Rainsy

Will the SRP come to the rescue of Cambodia’s independence?

KONG Hean
Editorial
Save Cambodia: www.save-cambodia.blogspot.com
Friday, 09 November 2007

Our true independence lasted only 25 years from 09 November 1953, our first Independence Day, to December 1978 when the Socialist Republic of Vietnam waged its expansionist war against a sovereign Cambodia. Since that illegal invasion by approximately 200,000 men from the Vietnamese regular army, Cambodia has been dubbed as a Vietnamese satellite state in the last 28 years.

Now we come to the critical question of how to regain our independence. In reality, there are quite a few options:

1- As prescribed by the October 23, 1991, Paris Peace Agreements, Hun Sen government, in chorus with the National Assembly and the Senate, declares void the supplemental treaty to the 4 treacherous bilateral treaties Heng Samrin and Hun Sen signed with Hanoi in 1979, 1982, 1983 and 1985. This option triggers the question of whether the CPP-controlled government and parliament would do it or not. Taking account of the fact that the CPP is Hanoi’s protégé, there is no chance whatsoever that the current government and parliament would annul the said supplemental treaty. So we go to the next option.

2- His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni convenes an international press conference - not a local one - and publicly declares void his royal signature and stamp which sealed the above referenced supplemental treaty on November 30, 2005 by stating that he was not well informed about the treaty, thus making a serious mistake which severely compromised Cambodia’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. Again, the question lies on whether or not our King would do it. Given the Second Khmer Monarchy being resurrected by the CPP and Hun Sen, the chance for our King to consider reversing His action is extremely remote.

3- Deeply angered by widespread land grabbing, the plundering of state assets, systematic corruption, incompetent, partial thus unreliable judiciary and severe unemployment among school leavers, the general Khmer public is anxiously waiting for People Power to break out just like it did in Burma last September. There are strong indications that People Power will succeed in Cambodia like it has already succeeded in India, Indonesia and the Philippines just to name a few. However, we have to bear in mind that the cost in human lives would be unimaginable. Are we prepared to risk our lives for the salvation of our country? We would probably hear YES as answer. But it is at anyone's guess if we come to the question of how many percent of the whole Khmer population would put their hands up.

4- The SRP has actually 24 MPs seating in the National Assembly. In our Constitution, an MP represents not only the people in his/her electorate. He/she represents the whole Khmer population. That article in the Constitution opens wide the opportunity for those 24 SRP MPs to consider taking the following actions:

(a) Form a legal team to take the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Hague International Court of Justice for invading Cambodia in January 1979 with 200,000 men of its regular army and for the subsequent 10 year occupation of a sovereign Cambodia. For obvious reason, the CPP controlled government and parliament will not do it.

(b) Challenge the Hun Sen government every single day in all National Assembly plenary or special sessions about 4 points and 4 points only: (1) the apparent shredding of the October 23, 1991, Paris Peace Agreements, (2) the illegal October 2005 supplemental treaty to the 4 treacherous bilateral treaties Heng Samrin and Hun Sen signed with Hanoi in 1979, 1982, 1983 and 1985 to cede a lot of Khmer lands to Vietnam, (3) the government's inaction towards the chipping away on a daily basis of Cambodia's territories by both Vietnam and Thailand and (4) the government's inaction towards 6 million or so of illegal migrants in Cambodia including at least 4.5 million Vietnamese.

(c) Write to the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to convene follow-up meetings of all signatories of the Paris Peace Agreements in order to thoroughly verify whether or not the spirit and the letter of the Accords are fully observed by all contracting parties. US Ambassador to Cambodia, Mr. Joseph A. Mussomeli, has stated quite a few times that, quote, "the Paris Peace Accord has no expiration date", unquote.

The Sam Rainsy Party should be reminded that the general Khmer public is holding high expectation on it as Cambodia’s last hope in regaining independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and dignity. In our opinion, nevertheless, the only solution left for our fellow countrymen to salvage our sinking ship Cambodia is People Power. In the last 3 general elections, we had around 40 political parties competing with each other for votes. Let's assume that the number of political parties registering for future elections stay the same at 40. And let's assume against the reality on the grounds that, besides the CPP, 39 parties firmly unite to beat Hun Sen in 2008 general election and in the elections beyond. They still will not win taking account of all the tricks and traps set up by the CPP and its masters in Hanoi. So why would one bother supporting Funcinpec, NRP, SRP, HRP or whatever-P? For what? For delaying the opportunity of salvaging our poor motherland Cambodia from the brink of being wiped out of the world's map? And by the process for being dubbed as traitors to our own blood and race as Hun Sen and his CPP are? To those helpless 39 parties which are scrambling for support, Cambodia will say NO!

In closing my remark, I would like to openly dare Norodom Ranariddh, Norodom Chakrapong, Sisowath Thomico, Sam Rainsy, Kem Sokha, Keo Puth Rasmey, Nhiek Bun Chhay and all the leaders of the 39 political parties besides the CPP to unanimously call for People Power, the only solution and hope left for the entire Khmer race to redeem its dignity and honour. Failing to do so is tantamount to colluding with the traitor Hun Sen for a share of power and wealth in an ocean of Khmer people’s suffering and tears. [END]

Mr. Hean Kong:

Khmer people in the US and other countries agreed with you 100% to use PEOPLE POWER to topple Hun Sen's regime. Otherwise, Khmer will be erased and under Hanoi's control from now on.

I am really pleased to see this movement in Cambodia. The future of Cambodia will be depended entirely to our young people. They must make the decision on what of Cambodia they want to live in their lives. They must remove all idiot monky from their positions now and put all stars military leaders in redundancy for wasting Cambodian budget and Cambodian forests. These military leaders are of tigers. If they don't have meats, they will eat huamn fleshes. Areak Prey

Thanks KONG HEAN you have a terrific and brilliant idea
I hope Cambodian take this step for saving of our land & nation.

What is a bunch of losers? Youth Movement my ass, the only place they going to move to is to slave houses with Ah Khmer-Yuon in Vietnam.

Anonymous said...

Hey 6:58, you are wrong, there are not any Khmer-Yuon in Viet Nam, but in Cambodia. Ah Hun Sen and his supporters are Khmer Yuon.

Anonymous said...

Oh no? Then how come the Ah Khmer-Yuon always whining about being slave in Vietnam, huh?

Anonymous said...

OK, good 7:56, please throw out Ah Khmer-Youn from Cambodia. Let real Yuon go from Hanoi to live in Cambodia.

Yes, that is the change we need to make in order to improve our standard of living. Yuon Hanoi is very successful, and you can't be successful with too many Ah Khmer-Yuon slaves in your country. Therefore, Ah Khmer-Yuon is out, and Yuon Hanoi is in.

The only solution should be:
1. All khmer must be united either in Cambodia or overseas. They can contribute according to their ability through financial or other means of persuading family members or friends to support SRP;
2. SRP must be strong and clean and give strong message to fight corruption, judiciary, high fuel price...etc

Anonymous said...

That is sooo stupid, 9:22. Money and Khmer doesn't mix. Both Ah real Khmer and Ah Kmer-Oversea are struggling just to put food on their table. They only have so much for politic, and the SRP had blown it. Thus, don't expect too much from that direction.

Your best bet will be to pretend to be Jewish and get Jewish people to sponsor the SRP because they have a lot more money than we do.

To 9:22AM,

It sounds as though you strongly believe that the SRP is the only hope for Cambodia. It's fine with me even if I believe otherwise. But can you do me a favour by hitting Sam Rainsy's head with a piece of rock so that he wakes up and responds to Mr. Kong Hean's sensible comment right above?

You don't get it, do you. In the late 60s and early 70s, the US, with more than 200,000 troops armed to their teeth, could not defeat the Vietnamese. In fact, the Americans were defeated instead. In Cambodia right now, there are from 4.5 to 5 million illegal Vietnamese migrants who can be armed less than 24 hours if there is a potential threat to the CPP power base, thus their iron grip on Cambodia. How many supporters the SRP has so far? In 2003 general election, around 2.1 million Khmer people voted for the SRP. Let's assume that 3 million Cambodians will vote for the SRP in July 2008 election and let's assume also that all of them are ready to fight to their death to protect Cambodia's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. In other words, you can count on those 3 million SRP voters to fight back the Vietnamese counter-attack. It's possible, it can happen. But the truth is that the SRP has not one single bullet to arm those 3 million war-ready supporters. What would you do?

I totally agree with Mr. Kong Hean when he said that People Power is the only hope left for Cambodia if this country is to be liberated from the expansionist Vietnamese. Funcinpec, NRP, SRP, HRP or something-P are simply democracy ornaments for the CPP and the traitor Hun Sen. Worse than that, they give you false expectation and hope, thus slam shut the opportunity to call for People Power.

Hi 8:40, Yuon Hanoi is in for what?

Anonymous said...

11:00, Yuon Hanoi is no difference from us or anyone else for that matter. They have their own interests, we have ours, the China has theirs, and so as everyone else, but we can't survive without everyone. We need global trading and competition to make things affordable for everyone.

Anonymous said...

11:18 You have your interests, your good friend Vietnamese have their own interests, but Khmer Krom don't need any interests? You think are they animal?

Anonymous said...

Yes, Ah Khmer-Yuons are indeed wild animals, and they must be kept on the leashes at all time in order to protect our civilization.

Anonymous said...

what is your civilization? The civilized person as you can look down other group of people as wild animals? You are still good when you treate Khmer Krom as animal? are you not criminal?

Anonymous said...

Hi 12:00, if Khmere Krom are wild animals, so when you kill them, you are not criminals, right?

Anonymous said...

That is right? There is no difference between killing a wild money and Ah Khmer-Yuon.

Anonymous said...

Correction:

That is right? There is no difference between killing a wild monkey and Ah Khmer-Yuon.

Please tell all Cambodian people to stop using Vietnamese products.

All khmer must be united and watch all Vietnamese illegal activities and put on this website.

This 12:59 PM is the fucking Cambodian enemy this mother sucker just come to spy and gave a whole bunches of bullshit do not read that crap from this fuck-en comments.

Anonymous said...

Why do you say that, 1:31?

Anonymous said...

1:14, there is no such thing as Vietnamese illegal activities, only Ah Khmer-Yuon's.

Anonymous said...

1:01, if you stop using Vietname's goods, then you have to buy Thai's, and that will drive up the inflation, and cause Khmer people to suffer.

It's more beneficial just to get Ah Khmer-Yuons troublemakers back to their country (Vietnam) and make room of Khmer people to breath. Doesn't that make more sense?

No, without competitions the price will be too high. For cry out loud, we got enough problem to put food on our table right now, and you want us to cut down competition?

Anonymous said...

More should be creat it to get them involved.

Anonymous said...

Yes, we can used more slaves like them to clean our countryside shit pits.

Good try, fellas!I can truly offer you our assurance that there will not be any movement under our impregnable government. Of course, we won't tolerate such uncilized behaviors. Furthermore, the vast majority of the Cambodian people are categorically and unflinchingly underpinned our current government. Plus, after all, this is a democratic country, you're free to exercise your freedom (jingerly).
