The KR Tribunal (KRT) authorized Ieng Sary and Ieng Thirith’s children to visit their parents at the tribunal detention center on Thursday. Reach Sambath, KRT spokesman, indicated that one of the couple’s sons and one of their daughters were allowed by the KRT co-investigating judges to visit their parents at the tribunal detention center. This is the first time since their almost 2-month imprisonment that Ieng Sary and his wife are allowed to meet their children for a duration of 45-minute. Ang Oddam, Ieng Sary’s defense lawyer, criticized the KRT for taking a long time to authorize the family visit for Ieng Sary and his wife. Ang Oddam said that he asked the tribunal for an authorization since 13 November and the tribunal only authorizes this visit just now only.
