Nhiek Bun Chhay, Funcinpec secretary-general, rejected news media reports published Wednesday, stating that his party may not have the opportunity to participate in the formation of the government following the upcoming 2008 general election. Nhiek Bun Chhay said, during the opening session of the training for Funcinpec trainers which was participated by almost 200 party members, on Tuesday, that he asked these Funcinpec officials to be faithful to the party, and that they must work hard to help the party reach its victory in the 2008 general election. He said that he did not tell these Funcinpec officials about raising a white flag.
