Message from Party President Sam Rainsy
to the Cambodian People

Respected and beloved Compatriots,
I, Sam Rainsy, President of the Sam Rainsy Party (SRP), has the honor of reminding our compatriots that, on 27 July 2008, there will be an important election for the selection of Members of Parliament and for the selection a new government to fulfill the upcoming fifth mandate extending from 2008 to 2013.
The Sam Rainsy Party is a major political force and it is a leading democratic force for the Cambodian people in their advancement to build a free democratic society and a true and fair development.
Nevertheless, both the Sam Rainsy Party and the Cambodian people, who are the owners of the election vote, must remain vigilant and alert in order to face all the tricks used to prevent our march towards victory in the upcoming election.
With the fast approaching election, we noted that the CPP is using a campaign to attract a small group of SRP officials by luring them with various positions, monies, equipments, and other benefits.
This buyout campaign shows that the SRP is one of the most valuable parties, and because of this value, SRP officials who defected to join them were given high prices, such as immediately providing them with positions equivalent to that of a government minister. If these officials did not come from the SRP, the CPP would not even look at them, and will let them languish all lifelong, just like any ordinary citizen.
The fact that SRP party members are so valuable should be a cause of our pride. This value comes from our higher conscience. Even with our value, whether we want to sell our conscience or not is another matter altogether. Some agree to sell their conscience in order to reap personal benefits. This type of individuals form a minority and they are condemned and cursed by the people.
The 700,000 SRP party members understand very well that our individual values will disappear immediately when we sell ourselves out. Those who change their minds back and forth in order to reap personal benefits cannot be taken seriously, and nobody will value them. How can one value such individuals when at one time, they claimed that the CPP is bad, but now claim that the CPP is perfect instead? At one point in time, they recognized that the CPP is corrupt and involved in illegal logging, in confiscating lands from the poor, in selling state assets to crooked businessmen, but, now, they turn around and claim that whatever the CPP did was all right. At one time, they recognized that 07 January (1979) was a day of Vietnamese invasion of Cambodia to swallow Cambodian lands, but, now, they turn around and repeat after their new masters that 07 January is an extremely wonderful day instead. Furthermore, to prove to their new masters that they truly disavow their past consciousness, they have to curse the SRP which represents the true Nationalist spirit.
However, we must not be fixated by such individuals, because, in spite of the fact that they made us waste some time, they cannot make the SRP loses its true force, not even the slightest shred. The SRP true force lies in the millions of Nationalist people, of Justice-loving people, of people with high Consciousness from all over the country. While one SRP official defects to join the CPP leadership, at the same time, there are also 1,000 former ordinary CPP party members who support the SRP at the grass root levels. The Cambodian people clearly understand that the defection to the CPP by this handful group of individuals who only think about their personal benefits, will not bring any resolution of the problems faced by the people, such as joblessness, price inflation, poor people who cannot afford healthcare. In order to resolve the problems above, as well as other major national problems, such as border issue, territorial integrity, illegal immigration, only the SRP can resolve them because the SRP is faithful to the nation, is faithful to the people, and is determined to protect our National interest and the interest of our people.
In fact, the CPP is helping the SRP in its task of screening out its large pool of human resource, and in its improved selection of party leaders. We strive to preserve our honesty and the faithfulness of our highly qualified party leaders. This screening process leads us to provide opportunities to those who struggle, to new party members, and, in particular, to new generation youths to be promoted and replace older party leaders who lost their qualifications in the eyes of the people. The latest events help us expand our human resources, both in terms of quantity and quality.

Thank you Mr sam rainsey for your hard work. And thank you to the defector, for showing their true color especially during this time close to the election.
Thing with value and quality doesn't need garbage anyway. There should be a record of these currupted official who work for the CPP and the vietcong slave.
They should be remember for their contribution to curruption and suffering of khmer people
