The KR Tribunal investigation co-judges have announced on Friday 16 May, that they have formally informed all parties concerned one day earlier, the conclusion of the investigation in the first case involving Duch, the former director of the Khmer Rouge S-21 detention and torture center located in Phnom Penh.
The 15 parties concerned parties have 15 days to demand for other investigations to be performed.
“The investigation co-judges finished their investigation work and they have enough documents, proofs and testimonials. At the beginning of July, the investigation will be definitively completed and the final conclusions will be sent to the (concerned) parties. Together, these parties will fix the date for Duch’s trial,” Reach Sambath, spokesman for the KRT, explained while reminding that this investigation started in July 2007.
