Opposition leader Sam Rainsy condemned the arrest of Dam Sith, Editor-in-chief of the Moneaksekar Khmer newspaper which supports the SRP. Sam Rainsy said that the arrest was purely political. Sam Rainsy said that the government should arrest him first. Sam Rainsy added that the ruling party is using the court system to pressure other political parties, and that the election is biased and unbalanced. Khieu Kanharith, minister of Information, said that he did not know if Dam Sith’s arrest is related to the defamation lawsuit brought up by Hor Namhong or not. He said that Dam Sith showed up in court to provide his clarifications already, but he does not know why an arrest warrant was issued against him. Khieu Kanharith said that maybe there is something involved with this case. Touch Nora, President of the Association of Cambodian News Media Watchdog, said that Dam Sith’s arrest is a total violation of the freedom of the press. Ou Virak, President of the Cambodian Center for Human Rights (CCHR) said Dam Sith’s arrest is wrong because it was conducted on a non-working day (Sunday), and that this is a threat on journalists. Furthermore Ou Virak said that there is only one case but two charges were leveled against Dam Sith. Dr. Pung Chiv Kek, President of the Licadho human rights organization, said that this arrest sent a negative message to voters and it indicates that the ruling party does not welcome the opposition voice.

Cambodia is still under the Youn community, Hun Sen is just a puppet show. If you travel around PP, you can see that Vietnamese immigrants are full there.

Cambodia is not a free state and socall country,...it is just a place of anarchy and lawless....

In case of Dam Sith is the clue of intimidation when the election is coming near.

Wake up all Khmers!
