During their visit to Paris in a tour to alert the International opinion about the numerous “rigging” they have observed during the latest general election, the presidents of the SRP and HRP gave an interview to our colleagues at RFI Khmer-language service.
Maybe it is a distance issue, but a divergence seems to appear among the HRP leaders. In Phnom Penh, on 09 September, while the king just issued the official invitations for the 24 September National Assembly swearing-in ceremony, Yem Ponhearith, HRP secretary-general, declared to Cambodge Soir Hebdo: “We will follow the king’s (invitation).”
On Wednesday 10 September, on the RFI broadcast, Kem Sokha, HRP President, gave a different opinion on this issue. Kem Sokha said that the HRP will not swear in at the same time as the CPP MPs. “The three HRP elected MPs will not go the National Assembly on 24 September,” Kem Sokha stressed.
Sam Rainsy, his new road companion, maintains his position: “We do not recognize the election results, we will not participate in this first session,” Sam Rainsy assured.
When both were asked that this boycott may be construed as a lack of respect for the king, Sam Rainsy skillfully dodged the issue: “No, it’s not that, the king has no power. What the CPP decides, the king is conforming to that. If the CPP does not allow something to the king, the latter would not dare bypass it. Like the case of Ranariddh’s pardon, the green light must be given by the CPP leaders first. This is not an issue of respect or not, but that of our conscience, and our conscience does not allow us to go to this Assembly of (vote) thieves, of ghost and Yuon voters (representatives).”
The two opposition leaders said that they are still waiting for a reply from the king to their request in which they indicated to him their “wish to swear separately from the CPP”. Leaving some doubt behind, Kem Sokha said: “Without a reply from the king, we have not yet decided whether to participate in the first session.”

Socheata;
"The opposition is wondering whether it will join the NA swearing-in session [-Contradiction among HRP leaders]".
By meaning of your title of this particular article, it is "Good to hear that you are at last can see what's going on at SRP & HRP's camp".
May be you need to suggest to both leaders of the opposition that it is time to tell the truth to their supporters and followers.
Does Nicola Sakosi listen to these guys?
Don't try to do s.th for nothing.
Thanks you Mr Sam rainsy for giving people of cambodia a true voice!
God Bless you and those around you
Go SRP!!! You are the Khmer hopes. Where other Khmer bark, boast, and play blamed-game, you're all action. We are proud of you.
For Khmer who voted for CPP, you're to blame for Khmer extinction!!!
Khmer from US
My beloved Khmers!
What make me feeling very frustratfully disappointed and hurtful with the opposition parties, especially SRP, is they did not patriotically unify before the election. Why after the losing election again?
One of the falling democracy in Srok Khmer, we are still arrogantly and unconscientiously following the useless King!
I heard the prediction that HUN SEN will be force out of office with the influence of "People Power".
People Power will be spread from Thailand to Cambodia soon.
Wow, if this is true this is will be a bless for the Cambodian people.
Khmer Pride,
My beloved Khmers!
The people of Khmer in Cambodia mentally and conscientiously don't have full of hope, therefore their hopelessness and despair are the sickness undo death. Generally speaking, until they are eventually realizing that the hope is the antidote to the hopelessness,
and without hope, nothing can be accomplished,
with hope, what cannot be accomplished, then the people power will patriotically and nationally occure!
Trust me, Sam Rainsy will be a Cambodian leader in near future.
Look at Suharto!
He used to be very strong and tough and now look at him.
Khmer Pride,
Do you think SRP and HRP should joint and work from inside out?
If yes what is the good and bad out come? If no what is the good and bad will happen? Just wonderring.
I'm dumb.
I think Sam Rainsy and Kem Sokha should ask permission from the king to get married.
For Khmer at home will continue vote for who you beleive can lead. Don't listen to the immigrant, they will deported soon.
Why waste money and time on Monarchy institution ?It is useless and undesirable.
I think they both should join long time ago. It is still OK, not too late.
As far as I know Sokha wants to join but I am not sure about Rainsy. He said his boat doesn't need anyone else.
wait and see....cheker..see achhhh or not.....chekerrrrr or not...uuuu all was buy out by huns...do not act ok....if not why don't all of uuu joint toghter before election.....

To 11:39 PM,
Join together is good, but WHY the last THREE ELECTIONS they could not do that, and prepare everything before ELECTION. This is CHAKRETH Khmer as stated by Bun Chan Mol. Over twenty political parties had been organized with the HELP OF YUON/HUN SEN. Why ? Yuon had learned and understood khmer mentality very clear. No National Conscience, but personal interest, greed, ambition for power, even that power is a puppet
or vassal power of our two heriditary Enemies, Thai vs Yuon, they don't care.
Yuon/Hun Sen, knew that by facilitating to create more khmer political parties, Ah Kh'vang would have more chance to win. All
over twenty political parties would
fight each other for their stupid
DREAM to be Khmer Prime Minister.
This is our WEAK POINT. We do not know ourselves, and do not know our enemy, so why we always lose
in all BATTLEFIELD, as stated Sun
T'zou since 2,300 years ago. This strategy theory is still working until today. Why all Khmers who, pretended to be leaders, in all opposition parties, had brainless
to learn and understand that weak point.
For my view, this join, SRP &HRP, will not last. How is a differece between 26 and 29 seats ?
HRP with the advise of Penn Sovann,
Yuon's man inside HRP,will join CPP very soon. RP's leader was metamorphosed from the Tamarin Seeds inside the human stools, he had nothing in mind, but personal ambition.
In addition SRP had to resuffle, and reform its political party. This party, until now, is lacking of Planning and Management, even with Half million dollars from its supporters in U.S alone.
Raingsi has to listen the advises from the Khmers oversea, and stop listen to his wife, and some of his entourages such as Eng Chhay Eang
etc...
To 3:02 AM,
Monarchy is nothing for Khmer people and khmer Nation, but is a VLUABLE FOR YUON/HUN SEN to legalize their puppet regime and to VIETNAMIZE CAMBODIA into Viet Indochina Federation very soon, when they succeed their FORMULA so called Development in three Join order areas of Viet, Lao, and Cambodia. With 16 milliond Viets,
150 thousands of Khmers, plus 15 thousands of Laotians, these areas will be vietnamized. Then, this example will spread into the whole of Cambodia and Lao.
The END of Cambodia and Lao is VERY CLEAR!!!
Anouncement "The wedding of SR and KS is at sacred place".
SR will row his boat into man made hole of KS.
It's time to unite and make KS PM nominee for the next election.
CPP won! Shut the fuck up and go back to work!
Khmer Pride,
11:23 PM
Did you know that Suharto was given a state funeral by the current President of Indonesia and attended by hand full of current and former leaders, and dignataries from Asia-Pacific when he passed away.
My personal opinion, SRP is much safer to be alone as it is now.
SRP would and could pick up more seats in elections to come if:-
1] Internal differences amongst a group of elites can be compromised and put behind them once for all.
2] By putting volunteer contribution towards political campaign as utmost and important issue for the party [who can provided more will secure a potential and vote warrant post] by discounting the facts about a person[s] credibility, talent, and competency; would never work in a long run but creates more tensions and in-cooperative amongst the members.
3] grassroot and unionist based are important in order to have more supporters. This year election was seen as the falling-out relationship between SRP and unionist.
4] shall take a few steps back and look at what went wrong during this year election campaign [seemed to be greater enthusiasm that overrode the confidence and underestimated the circumstances].
If SRP to be conoldiated with other party[s] then they shall learn how to trust one another.
Kem Sokha should make a great leader of united democrat party.
Your Majesty Samdech Ta former King Norodom Sihanouk,
Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen,
Thank you for your both kindness and understanding.
What we need is prevention methods, not to let this type of accident happen again in the future.
It also makes me very worried to see so much alcohol allowed to enter or be produced in our beloved Kingdom of Cambodia? What about “ YA BA “ and other types of DRUGS from Thailand and Vietnam?
Can His Majesty Samdech Ta and Samdech Hun Sen stop all sorts of drugs coming to Cambodia? The accident may not be related to drugs and alcohol but just some thing that I could not sleep peacefully from now on to the future, in the names sake of true Khmer citizen.
Can Samdech Hun Sen kindly ask all 5 million Vietnamese illegal immigrants to peacefully return to Vietnam, so Koh Pich will not be too crowded more and more every day, every month and every year to come.
All Vietnamese illegal immigrants can easily come in and settle inside Cambodia even though they already have their own country Vietnam.
When Cambodia is too crowded, definitely we Khmer people can not go to settle inside Vietnam, can we?
Please Vietnamese, you said you came to rescue us from Pol Pot, and you don’t want to return home, it is not right according to 23rd October 1991 Paris Peace Agreement, can all of you go back to your country now.
Vietnamese illegal immigrants, you see because 5 million of you are inside Cambodia, it makes us too crowded and we wasted our lives at Koh Pich without good reasons.
Your Vietnamese Communism expansionist mind in Cambodia, is to give an excuse to China mainland to occupy your Spratly Islands, Parcel Islands, the whole of your Eastern sea border and perhaps the Northern border sooner or later.
5 million Vietnamese illegal immigrants in Cambodia, please go back home to defend your country from Chinese mighty economic invasion.
May I pray to God and the Lord Jesus Christ that those who have lost loved one will be comforted.
My condolences to all the victim's family.
Regards,
Kulen Monorom
