The new Parliament session looks like it will be shaken. On Tuesday 02 September, the opposition leader announced that he and his troops will go to take their oath in front of the king on 25 September, and not a day earlier as the CPP will. The HRP will follow suits with the SRP.
In Sam Rainsy’s mind, this initiative aims at demonstrating that the upcoming National Assembly was not elected on democratic basis. The SRP and the HRP still contest the results of the 27 July ballot, even though their complaints were successively rejected by the National Election Committee (NEC) and the Constitutional Council.
The Parliament procedure requires that at least 120 of the 123 MPs to meet on 24 September at the National Assembly, before taking their oath in front of the king. SRP and HRP MPs will not participate in the event at the National Assembly on that day. However, Sam Rainsy warned: “We are not giving up our seats. But, we do not want to sit next to MPs who stole our seats.” The 26 elected SRP MPs, and the 3 elected HRP MPs want to take oath directly in front of the king on 25 September, at the same time the CPP and the Funcinpec – and most likely the NRP also – will vote for the forming of the new government.
It remains to be seen if this strategy will bear fruits…

As I betted a few times since last months, SRP and HRP clans would join the parliament. Now, it proved but they just chose a different approach to legitimate themselves as members of parliament.
Taking oath with CPP members or with separation from CPP make nothing different. It's just a childish politic. If they moved to the same end, why don't they negotiate with CPP to take some positions in the parliament, so they can play significant role in promoting democracy and could advance their popularity for the next election?
Poor Rainsy and Sokha
At lease these two not sold out to be slave Viet as those their forefather ancestor enemy, RIGHT MATE?
Right on the money 8:09
Dear Khmer neighbore,
I had a feeling that some of you that's not related to your present King's blood must related to your old Jayavarman's blood. Raise up your good blood and protect your territory. Of course you will win one day if you stay and stick togehter. Remember good thing will not happen just in one day, it takes time so be PETIENCE keep holding hand for your benefit.
Your good neighbore
How can you ensure long term stability with 6 million poor with growing hatre and hopeless dream?
Poverty Reduce by giving more opportunity and social welfare of the poor.
Now, Christian and external NGOs,... lots outsider are taking the 6 million poor. This lead to the future breakup of Cambodia as it happened in the Story of " THings fall apart" about how Africa was colonized by the British
why, a good leader don't divide, he or she unites for the sake of national development, etc... if every political opponents in the USA did the same like the cambodian opposition group, the USA wouldn't have peace either. unite for the common good, mr. sam rainsy. you lost the election, have to wait until next election to contest again. otherwise, crying wolf once too many times will cause the lost of creditability and people will be wary and ungullible. please watch the USA election closely and learn from how the USA is doing it so khmer people and country wouldn't suffer just because you and your greed for power. i mean, you've done a great deal of good service to the khmer people and country, but please don't sabotage things in cambodia just because you want to be the prime minister of cambodia but can't win the election. please learn from the past and be smart about it for the sake of cambodia, not your own political ambition or anyone else's political ambition. i'm sure khmer people in general are so sick and tired of their leaders bickering withoug regards to the interest and sake of the khmer nation. please think about it. you lost the election by the large majority; there's not way and no how you can regain a large majority to seal your victory in this election; nothing comes close to it. god bless cambodia.
perhaps unite all the smaller parties early next time around or have a different political strategy next time. good luck to all and god bless cambodia.
they can't even get their small political group together; how can they lead cambodia as a leader? one has to be inquisitive into some leadership style? it's all about good personal character or conter of the character, in this day and age, not personal ambition only to benefit oneself and family. i think khmer people are smarter than that nowadays as we are not so in the dark ages anymore like under some old suppressors, tyrannies, dictators or whatever!!! god bless cambodia.
having said that, there are still a lot of works to be done in cambodia as many more reforms are needed in order to better our country. look at the education system, the social welfare of the people, the infrastructure of the country, the standard of living of the people in the country, the judicial system, the healthcare system, etc... all in great needs of reform in order to serve cambodia better and better. if so lack of idea or vision, just look around the world and one will see the huge differences. there is no good excuses for cambodia as a country on earth to be this far behind in all of this! why? maybe the answers lie in its ways or system of government. some attitude adjustment is sometimes all it takes to better the situation, trust me. change those bad, elitist attitude and reforms and reforms, and more reforms is the key to success and it would help tremendously. god bless cambodia.
