Regarding to the statement issued by the Center for Human Rights of Cambodia, Ou Virak should provide more details about the human rights violation because of a political party which has used swearing mechanism to maintain or operate membership in their party.
In America, when you want to become a member of a political party, you have to follow all their party's internal regulations including swearing in front of their leaders/local leaders/priests situationally etc.
CPP has used this tactic before, did Ou Virak wrote a complaint like this too? SRP also has its own internal regulations.
However, SRP must consider twice about the consequences that should happen when it will carry out some membership mechanisms. In case of this swearing ritual, might not be wrong.
But the previous expelling of misbehavior council members or because they have already accepted bribes from CPP, would be not useful and appropriate for the policy of "gathering manpower for future achievement". They should be moved to another position or lower down position rather than expelling them publicly like this.
SRP might be lacking an tangible policy to glue and gear its membership.

i am 100 percent agree with you common.
thank to have this common
Remember peak chass. Teang min jnass torl. Some time comment sense need to apply and reconidere. Every where in this world always have traitors but if you know how to clean and to make them understand deep down the principal's purpose. We Khmer must do anything for only Khmer if not later on yourn or siam will invade such as Kampuchea Krom or Surin, Boriram, Chan tabun etc... Please stick together for only one reason, Save Khmer nation and fight for Khmer. Khmer Rouge cadet beleive their leader that time, and willing to die for their angkar because they know how to train and brain wash them for their angkar. I'm not saying that Khmer Rouge is good but they know the technic how to train their soldiers.
You have a good idea, but it will never work; therefore, you comment sense (common sense) will become nonesense. The old Khmer words say:. . .like pouring water on a duck's head (doch chakk tik leu kbal tea). Do you expect the tyrant and his his clique to listen to your common sense? No way, jose. They'd rather stick to their own principles which have been proved very efficient for them. Why did KR win the war? Actually, it was the ideology of hatred taught by the Pol Pots that strongly motivated KR to defeat Lon Nol regime.
In genral all oppositions need to reevaluate self discipline and base structure confidence.
SRP learder could have been better if he's not so much in personal cult and selfish politics.
Imagine, up to date how many Sam Raingsy clones whom he has mentored and empowered to be ministers or prime ministers or to take his lead when he is no longer in politics?
SRP = cult of the damned
SRP members are just too arrogant in Cambodia, that is why, Cambodians don't support them.
politics is like a business plan; you've gotten to have a good business plan. otherwise you can go bankrupt and have no sense of wherre you are heading or what to buy or what to spend money on in order to have a successful business. please be wiser and smarter already. it's more complicated than one think. education doesn't stop dead even after you received your college degree! please continue to keep your skill up-to-date by taking continue education. thank you and god bless all.
Politicians must be smart. They must not break the party's rules but bend it as much a you can.
If I were a politician, swearing is nothing. I can swear hundred or thousand time a day if my superiors ask to do so. But you act as your conscience tells you. In Pol Pot regime I swore before commune leadership or Angkar to obey the rules to work hard and so on... But if I did what I swore I must have died then.
Bottom line is if you decided to be a politician, you must be smart. Do what your conscience tells you expose to public as much as you can... I am saying that because I'm not smart and can not be a politician in the given environment. It just waste my time as no credible alternate available.
