Around 300 ax- and knife-wielding villagers amassed in protest in Kampot province Monday, claiming a private company was clearing their land.
The company, Camland, has a 70-year license from the government to develop 1,600 hectares of palm for oil in Teuk Chhou district.
One protester, Loey Koun, 42, told VOA Khmer the residents of three villages in the district have long occupied the land of their “ancestors.” If the company does not remove its bulldozers, Loey Koun said, “we will light them on fire.”
Try Chhoun, Kampot coordinator for the rights group Adhoc, said the villagers tried to stop the bulldozers clearing the land, near the villages of Tram Kok, Dong and Kampong Chin. No one was injured, he said.
Kampot Governor Khoy Khun Huor and Teuk Chhou Governor Se Da both declined to comment Monday.
Phrak Putheareak, Camland’s representative, denied the accusations the company was clearing villager land.
“Our company received a license from the government for about 16,000 hectares of land to develop a palm oil plantation over about 70 years,” he said. The company has already cut 3,000 hectares of land, he said and he called on complaining villagers to produce documents of proof.

Ax-and-knife weilding villagers should go srtaight to Hun Sen and ask him why his governement stole their land a nd sold to that private company. If Hun Sen cannot give reasonbalbe answers, chop his dick off.

I heard rumor that hun sen is:
1- khmer krom
2- Was brought up by youn.
Beside he does somewhat looks mixed. Not totally or pure khmer. Another word, also looks youn. Especially when he open his mouth. When he open his mouth, its looks like he is youn and sometime looks like he about to suck a kdar.
Can someone clearify with the knowledge of hun sen. Im trying to understand why he is suck and traitor and killer of khmer. The only time he open his mouth is against khmer. The only time he kills, is khmer. And not youn, or thai.
What the heck going on with this guy. I guess his true enemy is khmer???? ( what a nuts case )

Ah Hun Sen mother was an etnic cham, but ah Hu n spoke Viet fluently. His ancestors living along the Vietnam-Khmer borders were thives of bulls and water buffaloes smuggling into Vietnam from Cambodia side.
Viet trained this kind of Khmers to work for Viet benefits.
Yes Camland asked People to show Document(Land Title Deed??) how can they obtain this document?? it can be obtained by using alot of Money...THAT IS WHY THAIS ASKED CAMBODIA TO SHOW DOCUMENT??? Thia side does the same as Cam Authority does with its own people...Now thais occupied Phnom Trop..Construction of Road... Phnom Kagnok.. and some other areas of Border Lines...

i think if the company is destroying the natural sceneries and natural landscapes, then it is unacceptable; thus local people are protesting that. they have to take into consideration the natural beauty of the cambodia forest, waterfalls, etc... god bless cambodia.

Seriously i think people need to grow up beyond this Youn looking mentality. Pure Khmer etc. It's really childish and immature.
Looking at Hun Sen, no Youn will claim him, he is darker then some farmer who had been in the field for the rest of their lives.
The point is, Khmer have a diverse range of looks, Light Khmer, Dark Khmer etc. Sino-Khmer, Cham-Khmer, and other Khmer.
If you keep going around dividing our people our country will never develop with full potential.
And if you must attack Youn people, aim your attack on government policies and and the dam crooked ambitions of politicians.
Try not to involve the general race or people. It shows very badly on yourself when you do things on that level.
Rest assured, draconian measures will be put into place to ensure that "law" and "order" are not in violation.
