Recently, several of our readers have informed us that they were shocked when clicking on the followers list (on the right column) and ended in so-called “unacceptable adult” website. To these readers, we do sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. Unfortunately, this situation is beyond our control: Blogspot, our blog host, introduced a follower widget where followers of our blog can follow our postings, at the same time, these followers can also post a small picture (avatar) in this space. Sadly, we learn that we have no control on the type of pictures and links that can be posted here and this situation resulted in the incident described above.
At this point, we have only very limited options:

Please keep in mind that our options are limited only to what Blogspot allow us to do since we are financially unable to maintain a full fledged website (in fact we operate on a shoestring "absolute ZERO" budget) and we do not have technical members who can help us much at all.

Right, you cannot control it. The only way is to remove it completely or you may contact Google-blogspot technical support for help.
My suggestion:
Check and write down the IDs of the unwanted followers. Write a formal letter to inform them to remove themselves from this blogspot before the matter is reported to authority. If they don't heed the request, send their IDs and URL link along with a letter of complaint to the FBI cyber crime unit and let the FBI sorts it out if your complaint merits their action.
