According to the broadcast by Voice of America in the morning of 23 September 2009, H.E. Sam Rainsy, President of the Sam Rainsy Party, used a forum organized by the club of Thai journalists in Bangkok to criticize and attack the leadership of the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC), in particular, Samdach Akkok Moha Sena Bat Dey Dek Cho (SAMSBDDC) Hun Xen, calling him a former Khmer Rouge leader, and the [the latter is] using all means to silence the opposition voice. Regarding this unjust accusation, the Press and Quick Reaction Unit of the Council of Ministers is providing the following clarifications to the national and international opinion:
The [reason] Cambodian people is alive and receives everything as they are today is due to the gratefulness of the 07 January 1979, under the highest leadership of VIPs, such as Samdach Akkok Moha Ponhea Chak Krey Heng Xamrin, Samdach Moha Thormok Pothisal Chea Xim and SAMSBDDC Hun Xen who are currently the top leaders of the Senate, the National Assembly and the RGC, and they are also the top leaders of the CPP as well.
Under the genocidal Pol Pot regime, SAMSBDDC Hun Xen was a victim at that time, he fled the pursuit by the Khmer Rouge to kill him, and he joined with other VIPs to form the 02 December front to help liberate the people of Cambodia out of the killing fields, this is contrary to the accusations made by the opposition leader. Besides leading the liberation of the people from the genocidal regime, SAMSBDDC Hun Xen applied the win-win policy to successfully destroy the political and military Khmer Rouge organizations, and he cooperated with the UN to form the Khmer Rouge tribunal to currently judge the Khmer Rouge leaders as well.
After the 1993 election, the Cambodian kingdom No.2 upholds a plural democratic regime, and the constitution, which is the supreme law of the state, guarantees and protects the freedom of expression rights, the freedom for journalists, [the freedom] to form associations, to gather, etc… In fact, currently, we have newspapers, bulletins, magazines, radio stations, television stations, associations of journalists, for a total of 660 units, as well 2,800 NGOs, and other organizations that are conducting their activities freely in the kingdom of Cambodia and overseas, this is contrary to the accusations made by a group of immoral people. Currently, when the nation is filled with total safety throughout the country, the application of the rule of law is the primary goal of the government led by SAMSBDDC Hun Xen, only peace and the rule of law can lead the country to development according the national development policy and the rectangular strategy. The RGC respects the freedom of expression by the people, in particular that of journalists who have expert training, but they cannot use their journalist title to affect the honor of others. Therefore, any action that incites, divides the national society, causes anarchy in the society, violates the rights of others, they must absolutely be curbed through the administration of a country that is civilized, i.e. through the use of the legal system under the rule of law.
In summary, the Press and Quick Reaction unit believes that H.E. Sam Rainsy cannot maintain his dignity as politician. He always uses his personal freedom to select a foreign location to criticize and attack the country leaders, calling them dictators. H.E. Sam Rainsy never dares criticize the political goals of the government, such as criticizing the rectangular strategy and the various reforms brought up by the government, but he is turning to attack individuals instead. The criticism on individuals is universally considered as total political immorality. The lack of morality by H.E. Sam Rainsy led him to shamefully lose to H.E. Hor 5 Hong, the vice-PM and minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, [in the latter’s lawsuit] at the Paris court recently. To preserve dignity, we hope that this opposition leader will act with common sense, without seeking revenge [in order] to unite in the building and development of the country, in order to help alleviate poverty for the Cambodian people.

Pol Pot Khmer Rouge was Khmer Nationalists but most of them were killer to 2 millions Cambodian. Some of Khmer Rouge who had the tendency to Viet (old brother) had no chance with pure KR Pol Pot henchmen, so in order to be alive for themself, they must escaped to Vietnam but their hand have had the blood like the other henchmen from Pol Pot. The CPP has not created the 7 January 1979.
The 7 jan 1979 is the product of the history, not of the CPP. It marks the Collapse of the KR regime, toppled by the Vietnameses not to liberate Cambodian people, but to annex Cambodia into the Ho Chi Minhy's Federation of Vietnam.

The Vietnam invasion had less to do with removing Pol Pot and more to do with the possible invasion of the Chinese into South Vietnam. The runway in Kampong Chhanang had just finished, providing a pathway for large munitions shipments and Chinese soldiers. This is why the Vietnamese invaded. They were watching Pol Pot's regime implode, killing each other...which was their primary motivation to stay out of Cambodia, but they could not wait any longer because they fear the Chinese, not the Khmer...and they orchestrated it so well...they got Hun Sen and his band of stooges to become the patriotic front...and you know the rest of the story....now him and his ilk own the nation and what they don't own, they are selling to the Vietnamese, Koreans, and Chinese....
Whether Hun Sen was a Khmer Rouge or a victim of the Khmer Rouge or not, it was the past. Seven of January was also the past. We need to deal with the present. We can't allow a leader to be a dictator no what what he has or has not done in the past-good or bad. We canot allow a leader that has commited so many crimes to be a leader of a democratic society, if we want to live in a democracy.
Many Khmer attitude has been that if someone has done something good for them, they will respect and pay gratitute to the latter for the rest of their life. This is damgerous. Look at Vietnam and the Cambodian government now. Hun Sen gets is power from Vietnam, so he let Vietnam to do whatever she wants. How much land does ambodia loose to Vietnam lately. Many Khmers are often intimidated by theVietnamese authorities, especially tose people along the Khmer-Youn border.

It's ricdiculous indeed that there are too many one-star, two-star, and three-star generals in a small country like Cambodia. It's about fifteen times more than in the 60's and 70's. This excludes Hun Sen's personal bodyguars.
Why Hun Sen promoted his officers, some of whom are not ecademically trained, to a ridiculous number?
1- He promoted the other officers, so he can promote his own son without being criticized by them.
2-When his son reaches the rank of a three-star general, he will become a military commander-in-chief of the country.
3-When his son become a commander-in-chief, Hun Sen will slowly turn Cambodia into a military-ruled country.
4-When Cambodia become a military-ruled country, Hun Sen families and his clique will be the sole owners of our motherland.
There is no doubt about why Hun Sen has too many bodyguards to protect him: it's because he wants to stay in stolen power until he fulfils his plan. Hus Sen has extravagantly spent the national budget for the above purpose, and this is a real waste of it.
To stop this blind mad dog from fulfilling his goal, which is not at all for the interest of the country nor benificial to Khmer people, all freedom-loving Khmers living inside and outside of the country must be unite and resolute in our endeavour to peacefully challenge to Hun Sen's betryal step before it's too late.

Again, this letter is so ridiculous. The so-called government's Press and Quick Reaction Unit has issued this letter to the public particularly to rebut to Sam Rainsy in a manner of foreigner expression and division characterization.
We should weigh and use our sub-consciousness to consider this letter as following:
1. Khmer Rouge regime has already been passed more than 30 years ago, but this letter shows us that "Cambodian people are continuously exploited by the incumbent government who has relentlessly used its rhetoric to dig out the suffering and trauma or Post Traumatic Syndromes Disorder (PTSD) of Cambodian people to benefit their political agenda and foreigner especially Vietnam.
2. January 7, 1979 has already been passed and this day has illustrated only dark page of Cambodian history especially the divisions among Khmer fractions, but this letter shows only the gut to fulfill Vietnamization over Cambodia. Of course, every Cambodian has realized that KR regime and Vietnamese occupation in Cambodia are two dead story for bright future of Cambodia especially to talk in during our current economic crisis. It is very non-sense story and unproductive folktale. KR regime nowadays is mentioned for in the court and the public to fulfilling the national reconciliation and healing, not divisive scheme like this letter used.
3. Why Sam Rainsy must join Thai journalist club to criticize Hun Sen? Very fool feedback from this letter writer. Why Sam Rainsy criticized the individuals but not the triangle policies? This statement is so fool by this letter writer. Why RFA and VOA talked about the individual eviction, but not replacement project...this is very fool again. More than this, we understand well that the same person has written this same pejorative letters. His word is not different from KR and he is good in using the politic of stick and stone (violence), not with the rule of law. Who is this guy? Cambodian or Vietnamese?
4. Of course, it is clear for us that this letter writer is tending to continuously divide Khmers and Khmers - at least Hun Sen and Sam Rainsy. If this letter is effective, it means Hun Sen and Sam Rainsy must face each other like a mad dog or a mad blind buffalo.
Who wrote this letter? He is not representing all top leaders inside CPP at all. As I know, many top leaders inside CPP are smarter than this person. CPP's members and top leaders should thoroughly check this person to see that this person doesn't work to abuse his own power as well as the good characteristic and intelligence of the government.

As far as I understood, Pol Pot wanted to build a Khmer Loeu society type for Cambodia. He has killed a lot of khmer both Commynism and non-communism. But during his regime many khmer rouge have killed people byond his order. Therefore he arrested all those khmer rouge and killed them at Tuol Sleng.
