Thousands of troops were on the streets of Thailand as a day of rival political protests continued into the night.

In Bangkok, the capital, the "red shirts", as they are known, were marking three years since the former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra was deposed.

While on the border with Cambodia, clashes broke out between nationalist protesters, known as the "Yellow Shirts", and police.

Al Jazeera's Wayne Hay reports from Bangkok.

I don't think the Cambodian government want to fuck with the Thai government. Using a war-torn and cash-strapped country to go against our military might. Think again. And tell your one-eyed idiotic prime minister to start digging his own grave.

You think Thai government have military might against the Cambodians? Is that give you the reason to abuse your power over the Preah Vihear? Cambodians people will stand up and fight for their beloved country until they can have a victory! We will never ever give up Preah Vihear. United States will pull all of its military support from Thailand. The U. S. will not support Thailand for stealing a church.
