SRP to Celebrate 18th Anniversary of Paris Peace Accords

SRP TO CELEBRATE 18th ANNIVERSARY OF PARIS PEACE ACCORDS

Tomorrow, October 23, 2009, the Sam Rainsy Party will organize a ceremony to celebrate the 18th anniversary of the signing of the Paris Peace Accords on Cambodia.

SRP National Assembly members will skip the ongoing parliamentary debate on the Adoption Law. Along with many peace-and-freedom-loving people they will attend a ceremony to be held at the SRP headquarters from 09:00 am to 11:00 am and receive blessings from 18 Buddhist monks.

November 9 (Independence Day) and October 23 are the only two Days that reflect and symbolize national unity, leading to peace and national reconciliation, opening a new and hopeful chapter in Cambodia's history: They are the only two Days all Cambodians can be proud of and should happily celebrate.

April 17, 1975 and January 9, 1979 were two events that reflected a bloody victory of Khmers over Khmers, leading to massacres or civil war and/or the loss of national independence and sovereignty following the country's invasion by a foreign occupying force.

The real point that whole world donated $-millions to Cambodia is because of Paris Peace Agreement, not because of Janaury 7th, 1979.

Please rember this!

Dear Sir,

Please do not make equal of the Genocidal Day 17 April 1975 and the Liberation Day 07 January 1979.
Thank to the 07 January 1979 that all the Cambodian people are surviving from the helly Khmer Rouge Genocidal Regime from 1975 to 1978 which caused a holocaust of more than 4 million Cambodians died of execution, tortures, starvation, disease,...

We all Cambodians must recognise the fact of the Cambodia recent history that many million people in the country are the living witnesses. We must pay respect to the soul of the liberators who passed away and we must pay our deep gratitude to the still-alive liberators Khmers and Vietnameses (no racist mind if somebody save you from the river).

There are some extremists who are not passing through the KR regime and living abroad. They are not recognising the recent past history because they do not know the reality inside the genocidal regime of Pol Pot, Ieng Sary, Nuon Chea, Khieu Samphan, Ta Mok, Duch... Person do not know the harsh life when he is not going through.

Thank you for your kind understanding.

We are living in the 21st century, let us all learn from the past mistakes and turn it into a positive learning outcome. In other words try to prevent war from ever happening again. We all must learn to accept everyone as equally important doesn't matter who they are or where they come from. Look at Aust we have a multicultural society and we appreciate each other very much. I would like to see our new Khmer generations do the same things in order for us to have peace of mind. We must not speak against any other races for they too are human being. We all know that every nation has its own good and bad. So, we must break the barrier between race, language, colour and religious differences and all we need to do is to learn to obey the same common law e.g. all for one and one for all and that everyone is equally important and at the same time having equal access to individual needs i.e. love compassion, share and respect one another, e.g. treat others just like you want to be treated and love others just like you want to be loved. In other words no more speaking against Viet, Thai, Chinese, etc. for these words will benefit no one, instead it will do more harm than good. Buddha saying 'speak no evil, act no evil, see no evil and hear no evil' Bible says 'a fool person says silly things only to affect himself and others around him whereas a wise man thinks before he speaks and when he speaks, he speaks with wisdom and in respond he is being respected and benefit from it all'. In other words everyone likes/loves him. So, brothers and sisters we must learn to speak in an appropriate language in term of a diplomatic approach which in turn it will place more value onto us as a person or as a new nation. Aust

8:25AM - I like your comment. It is the truth that SRP supporters try to ignore.

These SRP supporters want to be in politic, yet they can't event do the basic reasoning. Sam Rainsy is about sixty five years old, and Hun Sen is roughly ten years younger than him. The way it looks right now Hun Sen is likely to stay in power for at least another ten years. By then Sam Rainsy will be around seventy five years old. Do SRP supporters think that Sam Rainsy is physically and mentally fit to run the country at seventy five years old?
