Vietnam condemns Sam Rainsy’s act, slanderous allegations

A spokesperson for the Vietnam Foreign Ministry on October 30 strongly condemned Sam Rainsy – President of Cambodia’s Sam Rainsy Party (SRP) – for uprooting demarcation poles on Vietnam-Cambodia borders and making slanderous allegations against Vietnam.
On October 25, 2009, Sam Rainsy visited a border demarcation site between Vietnam’s Long An province and Cambodia’s Svay Rieng province, uprooting six demarcation poles at location 185 and bringing them back to Phnom Penh. He even accused Vietnam of “taking Cambodia’s land through border demarcation”.
Spokesperson Nguyen Phuong Nga said that currently Vietnam and Cambodia are speeding up border demarcation and landmark planting. Protecting landmarks and demarcation poles is the common task of the governments and people of the two countries, in line with bilateral agreements and international law.
Ms Nga described Sam Rainsy’s act as perverse, saying it violated the laws of both Vietnam and Cambodia as well as treaties and agreements reached between the two countries, and obstructed the process of border demarcation. She said Sam Rainsy’s slanderous allegations were ill-informed and irresponsible and that they aimed to incite hatred and undermine the fine relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia.
She asked the Cambodian Government to take necessary measures against such a destructive act, creating favourable conditions for conducting border demarcation and landmark planting between Vietnam and Cambodia on schedule in the interest of the two nations.

If Xam Rainxy is smart, he should have had GPS with him and provided the COORDINATES of those poles before taking is kind of uneducated action. With these coordinates, he could challenge VN and Cambodian government using every channel possible.
There are better ways to challenge them if he acts within the laws and well-grounded evident.

The future Khmer generation will go to international court to nullify all border agreements or demarcation signed by CPP with Vietnam, and reclaim all our land, islands lost during CPP reign.
We will have a good chance to win because CPP was originally installed by the invading/occupation force (Vietnam) and CPP lost the UN sponsored election. These conditions are sufficient to prove to the court that CPP had neither authority no legitimacy to sign those treaties with Vietnam.

I had learned in the history course in primary school that with Chey Chetha II Cambodia had lost a portion of land to Vietnam in 17th century. In 20th century under Chey Chetha III Cambodia had lost Kampuchea Krom to Vietnam. and again in the 21st century under Chey Chetha IV Cambodia continues to lose its land to this neighbour.
We cannot stop our neighbours, in the East or in the West nor in the north to covet and steal Cambodia's land, because our successive rulers, whether kings or prime ministers, continue to sell it for personal power and pride and honour to the detriment and expense of the life of Kaun Khmer. Cambodian leaders, like a family’s father in a house, since centuries keep on oppressing, beating, mistreating, selling, blood shedding, raping, grabbing, killing his very own children inside his own household to its neighbour thieves and burglars.
To stop this is to have a good loving father, a family provider, a godly father.

You need provable evident by any party. You can't solve this kind of problem without international support. GPS location is UNDENIABLE FACT by anyone anywhere.
Your assumption might be surely true, but as a leader decision should be based on provable evident by anyone anywhere.
That's how it should work.
Any treaties signed between 1979-1993 are considered illegal and not acceptable to international or UN guidelines. Hun Sen to win another election, he needs to play his card right by supporting SR and address this issue at the UN without concerning of his life. If he is truly Khmer, he will do what will be fair and beneficial to his ancestors and his people. Hun Sen, if you felt threaten by Viet, then you need to ask for protection from the UN and the time to act is now...Act Now and get yourself protect by the UN or US.

Whatever SR wants to do, here are my suggestions:
1. Ask you staff to walk around the border (where the poles are) and GPS recording
2. Plot that GPS locations with that of the border treaty between Vietnam and Cambodia accepted at the 1991 Paris Peace Accord
3. On the map, explain to the public the irregularities and the difference between those locations
4. Illustrate where VN took it
5. Make the map public
6. Send the map to all signatory countries to the Paris Peace Accord
7. You'll win public support
