[Thai] Senators: [Thai] Govt must respond to Hun Sen

5/11/2009
Bangkok Post
[Suthep Thaugsuban] did wonder, though, how Mr Hun Sen would react if Thailand appointed Sam Rainsy an adviser to the [Thai] government.
The group of 40 senators on Thursday demanded the government respond to and denounce Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen for appointing exiled fomer premier Thaksin Shinawatra his economic adviser.

Senator Paiboon Nititawan said the appointment is an affront to the dignity of Thailand.

He suggested the government sever relations with the Cambodian government.

''This is not just a personal matter for Hun Sen,'' he said. But if the government truly believed it was, then it should end relations with the Cambodian prime minister.

If the government chose to ignore the matter, then it could be viewed as dereliction of duty, he said.

Mr Paiboon said it was a serious matter because Mr Hun Sen had said he would not allow Thaksin's extradition to Thailand because the charges against the fugitive politician were "politically motivated".

This meant that the Cambodian government was strongly denouncing the Thai justicial system, Mr Paiboon said.

Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban said he would not atempt to interfere in what was an internal matter for Cambodia.

However, he woud ensure an application is made for Thaksin's extradition if he sets foot in Cambodia, even though Phnom Penh seemed determined not to cooperate.

It was not worth starting a conflict with a neighbouring country just because a Thai fugitive was hiding there. He did not see Cambodia as a threat, nor feel that Mr Hun Sen's decision was a challenge to the Thai government or the Thai justicial system.

He did wonder, though, how Mr Hun Sen would react if Thailand appointed Sam Rainsy an adviser to the government.

The Thai Democrat senators are the PAD sympathizers. If you Thai get out of Preah Vihear lands this whole saga would end tomorrow. These Thai monkeys are restless because they are afraid that Thaksin really will settle down next door in Cambodia and he will destabilize this illegal and un-elected Thai government.

Now Thai also have to deal with a crazy man and may be they need it :) Normal people is too easy and boring.

Why not fight and take back all of our territory. Most people live in current Cambodia are not real Khmer. They are Chinese and Vietnamese.

I feel it is ridiculous for taking Samraingsy as a hostage in the game between the two governments. Thailand itself want to play on fire because of its greed. Siam never gives up its imposture. Moreover, Samraingsy is not a criminal but Thakshin. Heaven and Hell is divers. I absolutely against the comparison in the stupid game.

Should burn the Thai alive before extradite back.
Eye to an eye.

Thai government is vicious in its hunting down the called "crazy dog Thaksin."

Thaksin was merely made criminal because of a clique,General Prem and buddy Bhumibol, disliking the man popularity.
If Abhisit appointed Sam Rainsy as an adviser, I say it's a great personal honor and kudo.

Plus Rainsy is not made a criminal or ousted by military coup yet.

If you believed military coup is democracy then you are a democracy fool.

THAI judicial system is bad and no good.

They trial our poor Khmer on the border without chance of jail. They killed them.

If I were Mr. HUN SEN I will also looking down at your shitty stupid judicial system too.

Critical thinking is the essence before jumping to conclusion.
None justify using force is a democracy.

Sometimes a democracy fool makes more sense than a democracy stool.

This is current Cambodia democracy, men with big mouth and guns rule.

We never wanted any relations with them in the first place. I told my mom to stop buying Thai products. The best way to hurt any country is to cripple their economy. Stop buying Vietnamese products as well.
