CPP: Hun Xen to remain the party's candidate for the title of "Dictator of Cambodia"

General-Dictator Hun Xen

Hun Sen only PM candidate of Cambodia's ruling party: CPP

PHNOM PENH, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- The ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) reassured Thursday that Prime Minister Hun Sen is the only candidate for the prime minister from its party for the next elections.

Giving speech at the party's commemoration of the 31st anniversary of the downfall of the Democratic Kampuchea (DK) regime, Chea Sim, president of the CPP and president of the Senate said that Hun Sen will be the "only candidate from his party for prime ministerial position" in next general election.

Hun Sen, 57, has been in power for already 25 years and is considered the longest government leader in office in Asia.

After several decades of civil war, Cambodia held its first general election in 1993 under the full supports from the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC).

Since then, Cambodia hold its election every five years and HunSen was re-elected prime minister ever since.

The puppet looks so happy as he and his comrades celebrate Jan 7 to mark the day of their best service to be Yuon slave and show their gratitude to the Yuons for invading Cambodia and installing them in power. We, as decent Khmers, must see through the mentality of these savage ex-Khmer Rouge with little education. They keep thinking that this opportunity is the only golden chance which they must firmly embrace it till the end of their lives; therefore, these vicious rustics will use all means of threat to scare away and punish those who are real patriotic citizens of Cambodia.

Cambodia like an injured person and need so much care from all of us.
Do we really love our country ?
We Khmer are so pluralistic. We cried like a small baby and blamed each other more than help the country.

Samdach Hun Sen was elected by the people of Cambodia through a democratic election process, so he is not a Dictator. If KI-Media team still said that he is a dictator then Pork Ah KI-Media team Mee KI-Media is Ah SVAs Mee SVAs they belong in the zoo, because they don't know what democratic mean.
And also if Samdach Hun Sen win the election again in 2013, which he will win for sure it mean that the people of Cambodia approve of Samdach Hun Sen JOB and it also proved that the people don't care about the SRP issues.

Don't think the man on top job would hand down the power to any of CPP members as yet, may be in due course the young generation would take over at least another decade to come.

President of the senate and parliament are ageing, supposed they are rather to keep their party in tact rather then liquidate it despite disagreements.

People are becoming more and more delusional with the inepitude and incompetence of governance to provide protection for citizens and on a bigger picture protect and preserve national interest e.g national heritage, resources, and human resource development in education.

The inability of government to provide justice to people is also affecting the image of the monarchy.

As the monarchy becomes more obvious in its support for the CPP the people become delusional about this institution as well.

Where as before Khmer revered the institution of monarchy as a symbol of Cambodian culture and pride of Khmer identity, now the monarchy come to symbolize a puppet of CPP, and an endorser of the current Khmer misery.

People who once would thought hard about betraying the image of monarchy and royalty now believes that monarchy has no role and use in Khmer society but to help perpetuate the abuse and legitimize everything that they feel is against them in Cambodia.

Monarchy is no longer safe. in 1975 the monarchy was overthrown once already, but this time, in the revolution that is simmering in the hearts and mind of the younger generation of Khmer people, the Monarchy cannot be saved.

The kings are more interested in preserving family lineage then about representing symbol of Khmer nationhood.

Let this be warning to Somdach Sihanouk and Somdach Sihamoni, that if they stand on the side of Khmer oppression, don't expect that Khmer will have any interest of prolonging this useless form of monkey parade.

We are the new generation of Khmer, do not want to abolish and leave our culture behind, but the culture of monarchy have a choice. You can stand with us for justice or you can stand with those who oppress us in awarding them and praising them in their ugly developments that rob us of our lives, livelihood, and future.

Sign,
new Khmer generation

Thes Meas
There you go again, unable to make a reasonable judgement! Sorry, Hun Sen and CPP did not win the election fairly. They rigged and manipulated the elections to make the outcome favorable to them. Hun Sen used threat and intimidation, he also bought votes. His votes were mainly from the Vietnamese population, millions of Vietnamese were allowed to vote for him. In the small villages, the village representatives pressured the villagers to vote for Hun Sen. Hun Sen made it difficult for all SRP voters to caste their ballots and many of SRP votes were not considered in the final Count.
Another thing Thes Meas, you need to research what real Democracy means, because you don't get it! Countries that have real Democracy, like the United States of America have what they call a set term limit of about two terms. The President does not hold office for more than 8 years. This is done so that power is not abused and dictatorship does not take place. Hun Sen has been in power for the last 25 years, how many elections has he rigged to keep himself in power. Cambodia needs new leadership, Hun Sen is old and his leadership still wreaks the smell of the Vietcong invasion of Cambodia in 1979 and of the Cold War in the 80's. Cambodia needs to be able to have a leader that is educated, worldly and is in tune with Khmer People and their struggles. We need a leader that will love Khmer people and care about the national interest of Cambodia. A leader that can guide our country and our people into a state of growth, that is equivalent to the rest of the world. Hun Sen is a Dictator, just like Burma and Cuba and as a result the people have suffered for over 31 years! Enough is enough, we need to take Cambodia out of the Dark Ages, because that is the current state that Cambodia is in, under the Dictatorship of Hun Sen.

You are out of your mind!
Stop with all your lies and cover ups, no one here believe you. We are all at a different class than you, we don't think and function at your level. Go join a chat room with your fellow CPP supporter. Better yet, shouldn't you be involved in some land-grabbing/forced eviction acitivity? Isn't that what you CPP and Hun Sen supporters do, you take advantage of the poor and the powerless and throw them out of their home and their land?

Excellent, I completely agree with you. I have been so disgusted with the King and King Father for awarding these three oppressors of the Khmer People with praise and medals. The Monarchy serves no purpose at this time, because it does not take any substantial role in protecting the well being of it's citizen and it does not protect the cultural and territorial integrity of Cambodia.
As the King of Cambodia, you need to stand up for your people and for your country against all who dare to commit acts that inflict pain upon your people and country!
Stop hiding behind your palace...

I think some of you appear to not understand the deadly desire of ex-King Sihanouk. He would do whatever, even he needs to lick Hun Sen's dick, just to restore monarchy for his son. Now, as his ambition fulfilled up to its brim, he would die with his eyes close. What can the King do his country, exept being placed to sit idle like a scare-crow!

A solgan said NO 01/07/1979 means NO TODAY.

I would add more NO 03/18/1970 MEANS NO 4/17/1975 AND NO 01/07/1979.

CPP should thankful to Lon Nol to make CPP existed

Democracy is more than people voting. People must be allowed to make their own, unbiased decsions about the party that they vote for. To do this, voters need to have access to unbiased information and be free from threats of political violence, discrimination or intimidation. They should feel that their votes are secret and they are free to follow their own beliefs.

In Cambodia, the media is largely owned or influenced by the ruling party which thereby restricts information critical of government policies and unbiased reporting on the oppostion parties. It is well known, for example, that oppostion parties do not get as much media 'air time' as the ruling party. Journalists and opposition activitis, it is well documented, are unable to be critical of the government as the judicial system will be used against them in direct contradiction to the country's constitution, a document agreed to by the ruling party.

Locally, again well documented, the majority of Cambodians are rural dwellers living in communes and villages. As any trip around the country will show you, the ruling party is represented everywhere. It is also usually very obvious that the ruling party representatives are better off than the opposition parties based upon the style and modernity of many of the ruling party representatives homes'. This shows people that they could become rich and wealthy by following the ruling party while not necessarily believing in any of it's policies. During election campaigns it is also common for 'gifts' to be given to voters (cheap motorbikes I noticed during the last election).

As stated earlier, information is kept from the voters by controlling the media. This allows for the use of the fear of change, e.g. if you vote for the opposition they'll take the school away or there will be war etc.

In this light, elections are largely meaningless as there isn't an unbiased, level playing field. The political viewpoints of Cambodians are not free from biased influences - until such time as the political climate in Cambodia is free, elections will remain pointless.

People can not get unbiase TV as long as political campaign are dominated by CPP control media.

If Khmer want unbiase TV they should try to form some sort of "Democracy Now TV and Radio" like in America that runs and air freely and daily in Cambodia to both inform.

Can Khmer do this? have a media that may be critical of Hun Xen or anybody in government?

I think A bach Thmenh Sanoch, kbal lop Hun Xen min oi te.
