CWCI statement regarding 07 January 1979, the date of the Vietnamese invasion of Cambodia

Dear Compatriots,

Tomorrow is the 31st anniversary of the Vietnam invasion on Cambodia which consequently ruled over our country for 10 years and still continues its influence until today through its installed puppet leaders-Hun Sen, Heng Samrin, and Chea Sim whose role is to implement new Vietnamization politics over Cambodia. They are subjected to implementing all the illegal treaties, 1979, 1982, 1983, and 1985 and the Border Supplemental Treaty 2005 and the recognition of the invasion day 7 January 1979 as the Liberation Day.

With this, The Cambodia Watchdog Council International (CWCI) strongtly condemns such an act of the Cambodian leaders, esp. CPP leaders who they themselves are the puppets of Vietnam.

Please realize that the Vietnamese were the master mind behind Pol Pot's killing Machine. They just fooled you and millions of other people. The Killing Field was committed by Viet/Hanoi.
Yes the French and the Americans left without leaving any hidden forces behind. However the Vietnamese, never left, they don't play fair like the other countries. They only pretended to leave. They made sure that they installed a Cambodian government that would work for them in realizing the Vietnamization of Cambodia. They shipped so many Vietnamese people to come and live in Cambodia. Sadly they will slowly take over Cambodia, because we have a crooked government that works for Vietnam and no Cambodians are not biased towards Vietnam, Vietnam has worked really hard over the centuries to earn our much deserved hatred and disgust for them. They learned from their former colonizer, Communist China. They are both evil countries, no regards for human rights, just only after their own national interest!

Just in mordern history after the end of Frech era the vietnamese had kidnap Cambodia Kids for future traine to controled Cambodia (Exemple: Pen Sovan)

In 1975 the Vietnamese Communist create Pol Pot and help Pol Pot take over Cambodia ( Vietnamese motherfucker is the creator of the killer monster Pol Pot)

After helped and doctrinated Pol Pot to Kill millions of Cambodia, motherfucker Vietnamese creat and invasion so they can get credit as a good guy and save the live of its spies (Hor NamHong, Kiet Chorn, and the liked)

To Mr.Meas,
I'm a Khmer rouge victim too.I lost my older brother and my two uncle families during that 3ys...
I know It's really hard for a simple person to call that Jan 7th is a LIBERATION or INVASION...
For me, I call both and I more likely call INVASION, why? I don't need to explain.
Mr. Meas, If you're a good chess player you need to look at least 3 steps a head...Vietnam and Cambodia are compared to two chess players, while Cambodia can only look 1 or 2 steps a head, but Vietnam 3 or more...
Mr. Meas, don't get me wrong. I'm very independent and I'm Khmer and I suggest that you CPP's supporters and other SRP's supporters...learn to admit what is wrong or right, true or false...
We are khmer, right? and we got to learn to love,to care... each other, right?

To all readers:
My view of January 7, 1979, a day of indifference or liberation?

Please respect the view held by others that January 7, 1979 is the Liberation Day in Cambodia. Please also examine your conscience and think of those Khmers who knelt in front of a grave site at Cheung Ek. Have you ever thought of how these blindfolded men, women and children felt when the iron bar was swung on the back of the neck?

Liberation came- but too late for them.

I assume you are Khmer intellects and have conscience regardless of your political views. I further assume you still alive today because you 1)either lived abroad during the Khmer Rouge era or 2) were born after that or 3)were one of the so-called base people, or 4)came back to life after the Khmer Rouge fled Phnom Penh in
early 1979. If you are not in any of the above categories, you are in the minority among us.

One hundred years from now, when I and you are all dead, the world's history books will have a passage similar to this: "In the 1970s, a brutal regime known as The Khmer Rouge killed about two million Cambodians. The slaughtering went on for almost four years while the rest of the world was busy enjoying life.
Finally on January 7, 1979, Vietnamese troops with the assistance of some Khmer soldiers seized Phnom Penh and dismantled the Khmer Rouge's killing machine."

Like it or not, some Khmer folks are alive today because the soldiers broke the back of the Khmer Rouge on that day. I have never heard of Holocaust survivors who turn around and trash the American and Allied soldiers who kicked open Nazis'gas chambers in WWII. Yet some of my fellow Khmers openly trash all the soldiers who may have come in time to save some dying khmers. Have you seen a female soldier(maybe Khmer or Vietnamese) hugged a sick child after S21 Prison was pried open on January 12, 1979?

Please don't make a fool of yourself in front of others by disregarding this bloody historical fact of ours- that is the Khmer Rouge destroyed us for four years. All of a sudden the destruction stopped on the morning of January 7, 1979.

I am a Khmer Rouge survivor and want to set the record straight once and for all that not all khmer people are bigoted, ungrateful and ignorant of the historical event.

To countless Khmer Rouge survivors, January 7 is their Liberation Day.

Best Regards, PE

Dude above ^^^^ it is blasphemous to exploit the deaths of those Cambodian victims for your personal political view just like some of the medias and political figures used the deaths of the 9/11 victims for their ratings and political gains.

Vietnam had no intention to save or liberate any Cambodian when they came into Cambodia. Their only main goal was to punish Pol Pot and his clique who back and forth had incurred into their territory for about two years (1977 & 78). At last Vietnam just had enough of this cat and mouse game with Pol Pot and launch an invasion. To the Vietnamese surprise, Pol Pot and his forces were more fragile than they anticipated. Khmer Rouge capitulated within weeks and high tailed to the western border. Liberation? I ask. When angry crowds (Cambodians) chopped and hacked Khmer Rouge cadres (Cambodians) literally to hamburgers right on a highway, Vietnamese soldiers were just standing there watching and made no attempts whatsoever to stop these killings. If there were truly liberators, they would stop this lynching and arrest the Khmer Rouge cadres before they were dead. No, they just stood there and rather enjoyed the macabre shows. Unrecognizable Khmer Rouge corpses were left there lying along the highway to Battambang. And don't you dare say that I condone what the evil Khmer Rouge had done as I am one of the Khmer Rouge survivors.

I appreciate what you wrote and see your point of view, but I also understand the sentiments made by many others, including myself who strongly believe that January 7, 1979 was INVASION" and not "Liberation". Let me quote this passage written on 7th January, 2010
Op-Ed by Khmerization

They have accused Vietnam of abetting the Khmer Rouge to take powers in Cambodia on 17th April, 1975 and aiding the massacres of 1.7 million Cambodians. They believe that Vietnam did not voluntarily invade Cambodia solely for the purpose of liberating the Cambodian people from the Khmer Rouge genocide, but rather Vietnam invaded Cambodia because the Khmer Rouge has turned down its overtures of subordination to Vietnam and because of border clashes due to Vietnamese border encroachments. They also accused that, after the 1979 invasion, the killings of the Cambodian people continued unabated through the so-called “K-5 Plan” and that the Vietnamese army had plundered the Cambodian wealth and resources by transporting them back to their country.
