As a reminder, Prince Thomico, though an advisor to the ex-monarch, receives his salary from the Cambodian government. Currently, the Cambodian government is Hun Xen! Is there any surprise there?Prince Sisowath Thomico has decided: opposition leader Sam Rainsy’s letter asking for an audience with King-Father will not be handed over to the ex-monarch.
Furthermore, if discussing Vietnamese incroachments does not benefit "P'Kona" or the monarchy institution, what does? Does this mean that the royal institution is out of touch of Cambodia's reality? You be the judge!
In a letter sent to Sam Rainsy, Prince Thomico indicated Norodom Sihanouk will not see Sam Rainsy in his Beijing residence as the latter requested him in a letter dated 22 December. Sam Rainsy could be jailed if he returns back to Cambodia.
Thomico’s letter from Beijing dated 02 January sent to “Very Dear Rainsy” indicated that Sam Rainsy’ private audience request will not be handed over to the ex-monarch due to “the general attitude of the Sam Rainsy Party toward the monarchy and the party’s flaunted disrespect toward the royal institution which is currently represented by King Sihamoni and which was represented by P’Kona [Norodom Sihanouk] in the past.”
Sisowath Thomico chided Sam Rainsy for criticizing the “’subjugation’ of the King to the CPP.”
The letter written in French was published in the pro-CPP newspaper Kampuchea Thmei in its Wednesday 20 January’s edition.
“This is not about me taking revenge back on you, but just like what you thought what you could do best for your interest and your party at the time, I believe that your request is not timely in the current situation and it would not benefit P’Kona, nor the monarchy institution,” the prince wrote.
On Tuesday 19 January, Prince Thomico also rejected the petition sent by the SRP to Norodom Sihanouk to end the lawsuit against Sam Rainsy. In his letter, Thomico noted that King-Fathar has retied since 2004 and the prince qualified the affair as being a “political case”. He also indicated that the case is currently dealt with by “the independent judicial power.”
Sam Rainsy was sued for uprooting stakes along the disputed border with Vietnam. He will be sentenced on 27 January and he will most likely be absent to this sentencing.

During fighting against Viet occupation in Cambodia, he belled hating Viet but he is living with communist countries. Millions Khmers blood stood behind him to fight again Viet, now he is sleeping with Viet again and for ever. That is the case why MR Pol Pot betrayed him and taking all power from Sihanouk, Why? Because Mr Pol Pot was the Khmer nationalist against Viet annexing Khmer. Without Viet he can lead the Khmer country. Please all Khmer see what the white and black.

This is probably not the first, nor the last time, the old monarch is turning his back on Mr Rainsy.
In the early 1990s he was reported to have shunned similar request, stating publicly he did not wish to have any dealing with Mr. Rainsy's 'kind'. Perhaps, it was just a charade on the former king'a part aimed at easing undue anxiety of Rainsy's rivals and opponents, or simply a gesture of non-favouritism. Either way, the former monarch has churned as much political capital and disasters alike out of his famed capricious, 'flighty' (see Nixon) disposition. This is nothing unusual for men accustomed to being pampered and surrounded by yes-men and sycophants where social realities are studiously re-arranged and concocted several times over before being passed fit for a king, in a similar fashion to how a mummified corpse or a Russian doll is woven into an object of multiple dimensions.
That said, this writer is not without a measure of sympathy for men in these circumstances, and certainly, on our inherently frail human level. So I will try to spare them unnecessary embarrassment by not dissecting their personal anatomy further than the occasion demands.

This goes to show that the Monarchy has no power to strut in the Cambodian Political arena. The Monarchy is merely kept in place to appease the people, just as Hun Sen/CPP allows the opposition party to remain afloat to create the appearance of check and balance. The only one with party is Hun Sen and CPP party, because they control the military and the police. It's unfortunate, for the people of Cambodia who want to see true Democracy in Cambodia, it just won't happen under Hun Sen!
Mr. Rainsy and SRP party will always have the support of people who respect democracy and human rights!
Those that are blinded in self interest and in the business of selling off Cambodia and it's people will continue to support Hun Sen and CPP!

All sides: Yuon party (CPP), SRP opposition or Khmer party, Khmer Monarchists are swinging on both sides because the leader of FUNCENPECH is no good, but their supporters or monarchists are too many. They are silent because tehy see no future in leaders, but monarchy.
The SRP's been infiltrated by the Yuon party aka CPP or Yuon speak Khmers like Ly Ngoc Yiep and many of them caused a lot of enemies among Khmers.
The infiltrators in SRP party do harm to SRP. The real Khmers in SRP should change the strategy. Recruiting the monarchists and the recruiting the Khmers in CPP instead of cursing and insulting them.
