Opposition leader Sam Rainsy said Friday he would abide by a court summons and return to the country if authorities release two people arrested in December over the alleged destruction of border markers in Svay Rieng province.
Sam Rainsy has had his parliamentary immunity suspended and has a warrant out for his arrest, following failure to appear in Svay Rieng court on Dec. 28.
He is facing charges of racial incitement and the destruction of property, for allegedly leading a group of villagers to uproot border markers in Chantrea district. Villagers there say they are facing the loss of farm land from Vietnamese encroachment.
Speaking to VOA Khmer by phone from France, Sam Rainsy said he would return to Cambodia “when the Khmer authorities release two farmers who have been in jail on Dec. 23 and return the land to those people.”
“I’m responsible for everything,” he said. “I pulled out the border markers. It does not involve those people.”
Sam Rainsy said the border issue was a political case that needed to be solved politically. “I will try to find a solution from the international community,” he said.
Koam Chhean, head of the Svay Rieng court, said Friday authorities had to hold the two farmers. “The law is the law,” he said. “Sam Rainsy understands the law too. Why did he say like that?”

H.E Sam rainsy shouldn't accept to return to Cambodia court because Cambodia is a lawless state of hanoi.The court is crooked it can twist from right to wrong without conscious of human being.
The Svay Rieng court should summon thief nguyen,hun,chea and heng plus vsa kimhong go to explain the Cambodian people.

Dear Sam Rainsy,
You should not got to the Svay Rieng court. This court is a court that set up by Hanoi, the court that serves Ah Yuons, court that waiting to punish his own Khmers who try to fight for Khmer country and people.
If you go there, they will trap you and lock you in jail forever. This Hanoi court NEVER let you win. How can they serve Yuons if you do.
We know you are a brave man, you are a here for our poor people. But walk into this court is a stupid decision, it is like walk into a crocodile's mouth. They will ever let you go.
So please don't you ever go to that stupid Hanoi court in Svay Rieng.

= I want to know who give AH SVA KIMHONG the authority to trade and compensate Cambodian land for the Vietcong land? Tell me who? Who the fuck is it? What happens to AH HUN SEN's concept of not wanting any Vietcong land beside protecting Cambodian land and Cambodian sovereignty?

The act of AH SVA KIMHONG alone has broken Cambodian law and he has committed treason against the nation of Cambodia for using Cambodian land to trade and to compensate with the Vietcong government! Now the burden is on AH SVA KIMHONG to point out what Cambodian land was used to make the trade or to compensate with the Vietcong government in the court of law!!!

Sam Rainsy's request shows that he is really working and fighting for the innocent Khmer people. He doesn't ask anything for himself. The Hun Sen's government and court should comply if they are sincere. Then Sam Rainsy will be prosecuted in Cambodia and go to jail in and for his country.
Sihanouk is the loser khmer king. Playing too much politics and now causing khmers miserable.

Sam Rainsy was charged with what law? I want to know! For Sam Rainsy to show up in court Hun Sen court, the court needs to tell Sam Rainsy what section of the law that he is charge with so that he can defend himself!

It seem it doesnt matter to them for the CPP government of Hun Sen land title mean nothing. As long as it expose Vietnam illegals activities the good people and law obiding citizen of cambodia are all criminals, conversely the laws breakers and corrupted leaders are not.
Cambodian citizen next to think hard on what they can do to eliminate Hun Sen as leader if he sit there we will see them problem day in day out.
