Thailand claimed that Hun Xen cancelled the visit to Ta Moan Thom temple: is it telling the truth?

Tension eases as Hun Sen returns to Phnom Penh

Tension along the Thai-Cambodia border seemed to ease after Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Sen cancelled his schedule to visit Ta Muen Thom temple ruins and returned to Phnom Penh on Monday.

Hun Sen and his wife; Bunnari, arrived at Oh-room-jong Village in Banteay Ambrel of Udon Mechai province by helicopter at about 9am. He presided over an opening ceremony of a battalion and a village which are about four kilometers from Ta Muen Thom temple in Cambodian soil.

His visit was made amidst tight security which included tanks and heavily-armed soldiers. He spent about half and hour there before boarding a helicopter back to Phnom Penh.

A Thai army officer said that Hun Sen normally spent about two hours to visit his soldiers at the border. But this time he spent only half and hour probably because he was worried about the reports that some groups of Thai activists planned to rally near the site.

Earlier reports said that Hun Sen's visit to Preah Vihear area which started on Saturday until Tuesday.

Hun Sen also cancelled a plan to visit Ta Muen Thom temple in Surin province, the site which has been claimed by both countries. The Thai side which claimed ownership of the temple insisted that Hun Sen has to ask permission if he wanted to visit the temple.

Thai Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban earlier said that Cambodian side had notified the Thai side that Hun Sen would visit the temple ruins.

Suthep said the Thai troops will not be withdrawn from the ruins which belong to Thailand.

"We have been taking care of and and [holding in our] possession the area [of the Ta Muan Thom ruins]. Cambodia cannot claim its right over the area," said Mr Suthep."It's unlike the case of Preah Vihear temple in which the dispute was brought to the International Court of Justice."

If Khmer don't use force to push Thais out of Prasat Ta Muan Thom like they did at Viel Intry, Khmer may lose Prasat Ta Muan Thom to Thailand, i don't understand why we were too slows about protecting our border? during Pol Pot's time, we should allow khmer rouge occupy the Temple and stay there for good, now it's very hard to fight for...

Abhisit Vejjajiva just slap Hun Sen in the FACE!, Hun Sen can't visit Prasat Ta Mouan Thom, this is embarrass...you can't visit your own home, those Khmer soldiers should move faster than Thais...i don't know what ta hell they doing??

My question to Suthep: Did you ancetors tell you about your history? If not, we will help you to be taught by our Cambodian kid. Tai just migrated from Yunan province of China during the war between Mongolord and chinalord in late 13 century where most all temples were built from 1st - 12th centuries. Suthep and Abhisit come to give a lesson on history again, if your parent did not tell you about this or you have been fooled on the history subject.

Soy Sopheap or Chea Sophara are better than Hun Sen.

Hun Sen only good in screaming and threating his own people.

Failing to visit Prasat Ta Mouan Thom is very disappointed, i thought he could do it...like visiting Viel Intry(Eagle Field) Prasat Ta Mouan Thom, Ta Mouan Touch, Ta Krabei, in his speech was really Tough!! but he's turn around ran back to Phnom Penh like fucken loser..!

I think there is something wrong in the preparation on Cambodian side of Hun Sen trip to that area. According photos from Kohsanthepheap, the thai even allow many civilian to enter the temple, and hundreds of thai soldiers have been deployed.

3:50 PM ,
That is the best historic document for all Khmer people and nationalist. As for me I have thought like you too. In an late interview with US journalist before he died, Pol Pot said the same, the Killing is not cuased by him but by Viet argent. If we look carefully with today situation in Cambodia (Military, policy and economy) is very clear.

You guys fell for their trap. Cambodia foreign minister stated earlier that Mr. Hun Sen never intended to visit that temple from the start. Even his couples of speech during his visit never even mention Ta Moan Temple. Bangkok release fake news in order to make him look bad.

WEST -- Khmer Prime Minister needs Thai PM's permission to visit Ta Meorn Thom temple in Cambodia.

EAST -- Meas Srey & Prum Chea, Khmer farmers and rice field owners, need permission from Vietnam to uproot wooden stakes from their own rice fields in Cambodia.

Now I hope Hun Xen would understand how Meas Srey and Prum Chea may feel when a Vietnamese-puppet court in Svay Rieng sentenced them to one year imprisonment for "destruction of public property."
