It has been noted that major land disputes are taking place all over Cambodia at the beginning of 2010.

Various civil society organizations place the blame on the scant attention paid to the problems by the government’s land dispute resolution commission. However, government officials rejected all these accusations.

why? people should properly registered their title to the land as owners, otherwise, it is state land, really! and don't forget to pay property taxes, too.

Your life depends only on the only man you hold his photo. You forget that During the K5 Plan in the year 1980´s this MAN sent you all ,rural people, to the DEATH. And you keep voting for him to hold power. You deserve it.

Don't you know that the poster you holding is the one that authorized land grabbing. Too bad these poor farmers are being brainwashed by this CPP party and they don't realize that the CPP party owned by ah Youn communist regime. Go ahead keep on voting for them. Soon or later you will lose everything that you owned...especially your rights and freedom.

These khmer people are incredibly stupid. Every time things got fucked up for them, they would ask Hun San or his fat bitch for help. Can you imagine how stupid it is to ask for help from the same people who screw up your lives?

Hun San is not lucky that he is in power for so long. As long as there are stupid people like all those khmer farmers around, he will be re-elected in each election from the same people whose lives he has been destroying.

The basic problem is that these occupiers of the land never registered during the almost 10 year period allowed for gaining land title by adverse possession, therefore the land was still government land.

To 6.17AM and 9.23AM,

please enlighten us on the land ownership registration process since you seem to be so knowledgable about it. Also, even with ten years of grace to register, how would they know if there is no information issued by the government, or if the registration involves them having to pay bribes, sorry I mean social funds, to the many levels of officialdom that "governs" Cambodia? You guys talk as if Cambodia is like any country in the West where government informational broadcasts happen every day and with accuracy. Plus the processes in developed countries are transparent and the weaker party does not have to fund the social life of the stronger one. You guys remind me of some of those white men who came to Cambodia, learned to play the system to their advantage, and from their comfortable armchairs in the Foreign Correspondent Club declare that there is not that much wrong with Cambodia.

There are many issues with the land ownership that have arisen over the years since the formation of the RGC.
However, after the RGC was formed, the National Assembly passed a comprehensive land law which allowed squatters who resided on private government law to perfect title. It has been widely known and even step by step instructing of how to register the land where given on TV, as well as in the Khmer press. If you squatted on public government land, you could not perfect title- it has to be on private government land.
So called bribery is always present if you want your paperwork to process fast, as opposed to the usual slow pace. Point is that these people has almost ten years to register it. If one hold land title, the constitution guarantees compensation if the land is taken by the RGC.

look, the reality is that these people lived on state property like the lake, the river, on the railroad tracks, on parks and reserved areas, etc, etc... that's what we mean by unregistered, ok! you don't lived somewhere illegally, then claim full price for doing so when told to be relocated, ok. it's like some people live on the roadway and when told to move, claim that that should be compensated fairly and so forth. makes no sense! i suggest one study thoroughly cambodia's land rights law and real estate law so issue like this can be prevented in future, alright! don't be a smarty pants about it, ok!

6:17AM,
You sound like an idiot with an elementary school mentality.

You know too little about Cambodia government to be such sarcastic to them poor villagers. Look at MP Son Chai, government still unethically confiscate his land. Look at Mr. Sam Rainsy and Svay Reing citizens, border despute. With all the facts are prooven and the government still in denial.

Hun Sen, CPP, the ruling government don't care. They do what they want and get what they wants regardless of the citizens true legal rights.

You know as well as everyone on this plannet that Cambodia authority consent Youn to post the border posts on Cambodian farmland. If it were to be Youn land do you think Youn allow Cambodians to farm there for generations? I don't think so! That's proof that it is truely Khmer land. Yet, the government still in denial.

yes, they all must have proper documents! otherwise, anyone could've done the same, then it is chaotic! no proper official document, must move on, ok!

Anonymous said...

1:26PM, all the documents are in your mom and Hun Xen's mom rotten pussy. This is why this people don't have it.

Such issues exist because your fucking government failed to serve the citizens. If your fucking government is capable to serve things like this won't happen.

You fucking idiot motherfucker! Stop blaming on them poor citizens. The country is what it is today becuase your fucking government.
