The Sangkum Thmei district governor is suspected of raping a teacher.

On Monday 03 May, Ung Vuthy, the governor of the Preah Vihear province’s Sangkum Thmei district, was sacked from his position. Even though no information was provided about the reason for this sacking, this government official was under investigation in a rape case.

Last month, a 20-year-old teacher accused him of raping her in February. Ung Vuthy spent the night at the young woman’s place while he was investigating an illegal logging case.

“The reason behind the governor’s sacking is still not known. The investigation has not been concluded yet,” Prak Saran, a coordinator for the Adhoc NGO indicated. “The victim retained the service of a lawyer and strong suspicions weight down on this government official,” he added.

Good. All these dogs should not be taken out of their leash.

They should make a harsher punishment for these rapists. When caught and convicted, they should have their dicks cut off.

Agree.
All rapists should be severely punished especially senior officials, policemen and military.
These rapists should be sentenced to pay damages to their victims and should be castrated to avoid recidivism.
If they wanted to coitus, they do it with their wives or prostitutes.

Society, law enforcement, and the medical and the court must get involve soon otherwise there will be more victims!

7:34PM - Good point. As usual, some people are so quick to jump to the conclusion.

My question: why would a twenty years old female allow a man to stay at her place at night? This is unheard of in Khmer culture...

Rape is very common here in Cambodia and so therefore, the only way to reduce it, if not eliminate it, is to cut their weenies off. Some of these bastards even rape their own sisters or mothers.

In Cambodia, sex is a taboo subject, virginity, custom..
As far as Khmers don't liberate sex, rap will continue, the easiest solution is allowing young men and women to have sex freely, problems would be resolved.

just another way of gettng rid of an opponent.

rapists will rape regardless whether they liberate sex or not. These bastards will do what they do best even if they have all these women "willingly" crawling around their feet. They will try to take what they're forbidden to take. Don't think Khmer here shy away from sex, cuz they're not. I know for a fact, that a lot of them sleeps around. I'm not talking about the karoake girls or hookers. I'm talking about these ordinary people. Yes, even these innocent looking students.

Why did this governor choose to spend the night at this teacher's house? Why didn't he stay in a hotel/motel? why did the teacher allow the governor to spend the night at her house? It didn't sound right. However, the Khmer government did the right thing by removing him.

I am glad that the government is taking this path to restore people's trust... Cambodia had enough injustice... and suffering... a fair social justice must come in order to rebuild a country... unless we want to continue the chaos in the country.
