On 16 July 2010, Queen-Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk sent a well wishing letter from Beijing to express her concerns over the health condition of Dr. Chumteav Bun Rany Hun Xen, president of the Cambodian Red Cross. Queen-Mother also sent her wishes for the Dr. Chumteav Thom to recover from all her diseases. Queen-Mother’s letter stated: “I am very pleased to learn that Lok Chumteav Thom feels better from her disease. I was very concerned about the health of Lok Chumteav Thom. All the time, I kept on asking about the health status of Lok Chumteav Thom from Samdach Chaufa Veang Kong Sam Ol. I wish that Lok Chumteav Thom be cured from all diseases and that you may have good and strong health back in order to fulfill your noble duty for the nation and the people of Cambodia.” After receiving the well wishes letter from Queen-Mother, on 17 July, Dr. Chumteav Thom Bun Rany Hun Xen sent a thank you letter to Queen-Mother as well.

khmer people need to learn to respect our neighbouring people and countries from all walk of lives. At the same time, be united for condemnation if others are abusing us otherwise just be nice for peaceful purposes. I uge khmer gov't help to promote unity, love and peace for all, it doesn't matter who they are or where they come from. In other words, just follow the "Austraian way of life", everything is gong to be alright. we have to learn to be smarter all the times when it comes races or gender differences. We must learn to cooperate and not be isolated. The reason is for this is very simple fact, preventing war to ever exist again for good outcome and also knowing that war only leads to more destruction where as peace leads to more development or prosper. This old woman just wants to secure her monthly allowance to be sent to china in time and in full paid. She would not genuinely care about this younger woman who took the lime light which once only shone on her. If she gets her way Bun Rany would have experienced the same fate like the other Sihanouk's concubines whom she made sure to succeed them all.
The Chinese allowance is not enough to run everything including hiring guard dogs to bark and defend the monarchy.
It appears that the so called queen mother makes sure that Bunranny who is half vietnamese blood like her to secure her roles as queen mother is now too old to serve their nation Vietnam.
Viet or half viet women play important roles in serving vietnam.
