Special attention paid to Vietnamese residents in Cambodia

The Vietnamese community in Cambodia has a patriotic spirit and has positively contributed to the country’s two wars of resistance to gain national independence, said President Nguyen Minh Triet during his visit to the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia on August 26.
Meeting Vietnamese residents there, President Triet emphasised that the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia has grown stronger over recent years in different fields, political, economic, trade and investment.
Mr Triet’s State-level visit to Cambodia is to strengthen the time-honoured and neighbourly friendship between the two countries.
President Triet praised the Vietnamese Embassy’s efforts to help promote the development of the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia.
The Vietnamese Party and Government have always paid special attention to the Vietnamese residents in Cambodia, stressed Mr Triet.
Referring to the difficulties that Vietnamese nationals are facing in Cambodia, he asked the embassy staff to help them solve such questions as to their nationality and education.
Mr Triet said he hoped that Vietnamese community will join efforts to help each other and to contribute more to stabilise their lives and make more contributions to Cambodia’s socio-economic development, while adhering the country’s laws and preserving Vietnam’s cultural values.

Please do not compare Youn in Cambodia to the Khmer Krom in Mekong Delta.
Youn in Cambodia are still live under the immigrants statute. They did not have the same right like other Khmer born. Contrary to Youn in Cambodia, the the Khmer Krom have different statute & situation, they are living on their own country and not immigrants. Only the Khmer have to live under the Viet occupation.
Trust each other and have high team spirit. One day, we will able to compete with Vietnam. if Khmer hate each other, blame each other and not trust each other, even one hundred year later, you still can not fight with Vietnam. Open your mind is like open door for progress. You should confess yourselves that khmer are not strong at the moment. Even Khmer living in US or in other world, they are not as strong as Vietnam or Chinese in US. This can prove very clearly that it is not because of government, but khmer yourselves because you live outside Cambodia under same government of US. Look at Chinese people, no matter where they live in Cambodia, US, France...., under who ever government, they always better....So because of what? but yourselves, don't just blame other. If you are strong, you can form Khmer US lobby to change US policy toward Khmer, can you do that?

Why you don't find other option. If you khmer krom very much, please create one charity team, donate money in the form of schoolarship, provide khmer krom children to study abroad, especially in Cambodia. Education is not expensive. Don't just sit and blame this blame that, pls take action. No body ban you to do such thing. When khmer krom have high education, good job, better standard of living, they have more chance to fight back with Vietnam by themselves. Please do not fight inside Cambodia due to different idea about Vietnam. Do not do stupid thing like Sun yasit, if you like to do that do in Vietnam. You live in US, you should know the America say better to make a war outside the country. Why Sun Yasit do not learn important word from where you are living.

i think cambodia needs a paradigm shift in the way we treat each other and the way we look at each other and see each other, etc... it's the bad attitude thing like we're better than them,or i'm better than you, etc type of thinking, that's all. we need to change that! it's too outdated and too stone age and not proper for the modern era in cambodia, really! we are being too sensitive and too frisky, too finicky, etc... not good; need to be more open minded and treat everybody the way we would like to be treated, etc... wake up, people!

good point, i totally agreed with you. khmers must come to the reality and start to move on from there. without accept the fact one cannot move to correct it. i hope we all work hard to improve oneself. if we all can do that, cambodia will be a strong nation.

The stupid king Sihanouk got helped from Vietnam govt twice:1/. in 1970 he called Vietnamese army or Vietcong to power along with Khmer Rouge. 2/.Vietnam govt came to rescue Sihanouk in 1979.This dumb king needs power and the throne only,does not about Khmer people and Khmer country. President Jimmy Carter and president Clinton came to Cambodia, but we didn't see Hun Sen or Sihamoni came out and visited them. They sent Sok Ann. It's the low line of welcoming. Why? because Hun Sen thought he China and Vietnam. It's not important to meet American President. Stupid. Nearly 1/ 4 of Cambodian pupolation are in America.
