The Sam Rainsy Party (SRP) would like to inform its party members, as well as all generous donors overseas, that Mr. Suong Sophorn – the leader of the SRP Youth Movement in Phnom Penh and one of the representatives of hundreds families who lost their lands and houses due to the filling of Boeung Kak Lake by the Shukaku Inc. in Srah Chork commune, Daun Penh district, Phnom Penh city – was savagely beaten by the cops and was seriously injured when the land eviction victims tried to hand over their petition to Mr. Ban Ki-moon, the UN Secretary-General, at the Soviet Hospital in the morning of 28 October 2010. In the name of the victim’s relatives and in the name of the SRP, I am appealing to all party members, as well as all generous donors overseas, to please help provide for Mr. Suong Sophorn and his family who was victimized during his protest against the forced eviction.
I thank you all for all generosity and your support for the victims who fought to defend the interest of the nation, Cambodia’s national integrity, democracy and social justice.
