Nov. 9th is Independence Day in Cambodia. A country’s independence is supposed to allow its citizens to take care of themselves without outside interference. It supposes a certain degree of responsability, of compassion, of solidarity towards its fellow citizens. All nice virtues which are sometimes hard to find in Cambodia.
Exactly during the 57th ceremonies at Independence Monument gathering all those responsible for the Cambodian citizens, the eviction by Shukaku Inc. continues in the name of ‘development’. The company, backed by Chinese investors and belonging to Lao Meng Khin, Senator and member of the ruling CPP party, keeps on pumping sand in the Boeung Kak Lake, forcing inhabitants to dismantle their house, the offered compensation being ridiculously low.
Independence? From China? From money?

He thinks he owns Cambodia. We are his kids are so embarrassed when he talks like a barbarian or like a singing monkey on a tree.
Our mother is also making us ashamed of her skin bleaching, awkward jewelries wearing and flirting around...(my mother bun runny is seeing this hot looking 18 years old man behind my father's back - my father did not khow)

It looks like the Lao Meng khin and associates,CPP have burried those citizens in Boeung Kok alive.
This is the results of voting for CPP or the CPP vote stealing?.
Whatever would happen,destiny is in everyone's hand.
We hope the world body will bring HS to court for his destruction and his killings.
We hope one day HS will meet his ending day from what ever he created for the destructions for Cambodia and her people.
We hope one day HS family will meet destruction like what he did to the Khmer's suffering.

I am sure that to the CPP and their supporters (foreign and locals alike) this is development. They enjoy their "prosperity" while everyone else is losing their homes, their earning capacity, their independence. What leadership would allow "development" to enrich a few who are already rich beyond their wildest dreams, while creating a class of poor people who will need to depend on foreing aid for generations to come? And let's face it, virtually all aid comes from outside the country. Those inside the country are too busy sucking more blood from the poor, they don't even know what giving back means.
To sad to see this situation. This area is an area that is chosen to side to SRP and voted for SRP in the pass. That's why HUN SEN ignores the plea of these people. I can't believe if Hun Sen already won why the hell he is cursing these people like that. Didn't he know that doing good is bearing good and doing bad is bearing bad!

This is a kind of robbery not a investment project. Though this so-call development protect people shall get the proper compensation. But the robber actually is forcing people to leave their land and being paid by far lower price compare to the real maket price.
