A group of lakeside residents gathered at a shrine on the bank of the Tonle Sap river on Tuesday to pray to a spirit to save their homes, as they appeared to be running out of options.
The residents burned incense and prayed to a saint called Dang Keur that their homes be spared by an $80 million development deal between a private company and the city of Phnom Penh. Residents refuse to take a buyout from the company that they say is too low.
Meanwhile, the company, Shukaku, Inc., continues to pump fill into Beoung Kak lake, inundating occupied homes as it moves towards building a residential and business district.
Residents say they have lodged complaints with the city and have already protested multiple times in front of City Hall. They will continue to protest, they said.

Boeung Kak Lake residents's tears and pain is shared by Khmer around the world.
Hun Sen must brought to the international court of justice for so many crimes he has committed against innocent Khmer people.

This is a kind of robbery not a investment project. Though this so-call development protect people shall get the proper compensation. But the robber actually is forcing people to leave their land and being paid by far lower price compare to the real maket price.
THE MOST EVIDENT OF THIS KIND OF SHIT IS 7NG CASE where people were forcing brutally to leave their home and the freed land is not being developed anyway but just fencing the land for football field with 5USD per hour. Such development is very shit. It's very shamefull to the the Human being.Only the dog's brain can think it's the development plan.
In fact those robber will get the land to sell to foreign company in order to get lucrative profits. Those robber are always use that ways to become an millionare over the tear of the poor family
Hun Xen is very competent to sell state and people's land and property in order to make hiself and his group's interest.
If you are the real good leader and competent don't use your talent to make money by only sell the state's property and land and borrowing money from outsie.
You have to be your own agent for change...Believe me they will never listen to you if you not show them that your are the force of change and you can make change happen anytime soon. So all together with your family, neighbors and friends organize a sit in protest on the street to show the world. If they move it to hurt you, the world will condemn their action and this can lead to some remedy that could benefit you.
If you afraid, scare, don't expect them to compromise with you... Do it..If you don't do it you'll loose your land anyway. You have every right to organize this protest for your own benefit. Rember nobody give you freedom unless you fight for..
