On 10 May 2011, the Appeal Court held a hearing in opposition leader Sam Rainsy’s case who was accused of falsifying Cambodia-Vietnam border map.
The document claimed that the planting of border stakes for a border post between Cambodia and Vietnam in Chantrea district, Svay Rieng province, led Cambodia to lose between 300 to 500-meter of land to the benefit of Vietnam.
The Appeal Court could not proceed as opposition leader Sam Rainsy did not officially ask Chuong Chou-ngy to defend him in this case.
Khun Meng Leang, the judge in this case, announced that the Appeal Court will allow 30 days for Sam Rainsy to seek a defense lawyer in this criminal case, starting from 10 May 2011. At the end of this delay period, the Appeal Court will ask the Cambodian bar to set a defense lawyer for Sam Rainsy.
On 23 September 2010, the Phnom Penh municipal court sentenced Sam Rainsy in absentia to 10-year of jail time and fined him of 65 million riels (or $16,250) after accusing him of falsifying maps.

Appeal or not appeal won't make any difference because at the end of the day, Sam Rainsy's political career has been dead in the water.
The new policy of Hun Sen regime today is to kill all Ex Khmer Rouge because they are the true Khmer patriot that can be harmful to Hun Sen regime as Vietnam slave.
Hun Sen regime sends all Ex Khmer rouge soldiers to frontline fighting with Thai army without enough weapons and foods. Hun Sen ordered the front line army do not fire back to Thai Army while they bomb Ex Khmer Rouge over 50 000 shells. These actions are representing very clear that Hun Sen is trying to clear or kill all Ex Khmer Rouge army by using Thai hands.
The true and real Khmer patriots are the enemy of Hun Sen regime. Vietnam is scare of Ex Khmer Rouge Soldiers as they have been defeat Vietnam army (Over 100 000 Vietnam soldiers have been killed by EX Khmer Rouge Army in Cambodia. That is lead to Vietnam withdraw out of Cambodia) before 1993.

Mr. Sam Rainsy is very honest and smart. He would have led Cambodia already in the right directions and Cambodia would have been very developed for the last decades.
However, under the stinky leaderships of CPP Yuon officials and Hun Sen, Cambodia has been so messed, going the wrong direction,, and in poor economy since 1979.
Hun Sen has to step down and pack your bag and stuff to go to his Communist Hell of Vietnam where his communist masters love him. CPP has to be eliminated and pack their stuff and bags to go back home in Communist Vietnam.

You can't predict the future. If you believe that you can, you are a liar, because you under estimate others. It was very good of Rainsy to show the world how aggressive these Viets are and how Hun Sen signed treaty gave Khmer land to foreign invaders.

The kangaroo court is quick to kills, judge, prosecute , but alway quick to delay when it come to an appeal from the opposition.

Do you always talk trash before you can write comment? List at least three strategies how you can do better than Rainsy if you were in his shoes with no power no army. Have you gotten a title for yourself?
"Talk is CHEAP". If you were Rainsy you would be shot from day one.
