Phnom Penh – The SRP inaugurated its new party headquarters on 23 July 2011 after its old headquarters located along Sothearos Street was vacated.
The new SRP headquarters is located along National Road No. 2, near Chak Angre commune, Stung Meanchey district, Phnom Penh city. The new building measures 9 by 14 meters and has 3 stories. It was built at a cost of $225,000. The construction cost was collected from donations by SRP MPs and party activists from both inside and outside the country.
The SRP, led by Kong Korm, its first vice-president, organized a procession march from its old headquarters location to its new building. The procession included SRP MPs and about 500 party activists from all over the country. In a teleconference speech from overseas, opposition leader Sam Rainsy indicated that, although the SRP headquarters is tight, his consciousness is still large as usual.

I wonder if Mr. Rainsy is quite serious about leading the Jasmine Revolution in Cambodia.
It appears that he certainly does and so does his party officials.
What troubles me is the openess of this challenge to the ruling CPP, especially PM Hun Sen knowing fully well that he can be quite ruthless and bloody as far as suppression is concerned.
Wouldn't you want to keep this plan a secret for a while, while you study and prepare what you need in order to ensure great success and minimize as much as possible the damages and loss of life to your supporters?
I am really lost as I have thought up to now that a good strategy is a strategy hidden in secrecy until you are prepared to roll out your plan or an attack.
Why would you want to give your opponent every chance to prepare for your attack?
I am really confused as I think the SRP is not that naive when it comes to strategy of such proportion.
Is he trying to bargain his way back into Cambodia with this threat?

What kind of building??? it costs $225,000? Look at the style? There is no any Khmer authenticity. It does not cost any much more money to have Khmer design building. Just look at the building, I have no believe, not because of small size but something that inspire as Khmer. Sorry....I expect small elegant building, represent brilliant party.

The people revolution will be succeeded if we, notably the leaders, are able to gather international media as much as we can to get into Cambodia first before we start any peaceful movement.
This way, any violent suppression by the puppet government will be swiftly disseminated around the world. But, this puppet government, under its master Yieknam’s direction, will be using hidden Yieknam’s agents that look like regular citizens to counter the people revolution.
Furthermore, we must convince the foreign presses that the present government is tightly controlled by the expansionist Yieknam. So, any movement countering the people revolution will be stemming from Yieknam, not from the Khmer people.

I'm also at lost with Mr. Rainsy's strategy. Secrecy (element of surprise) is a key factor for a successful operation.
Why does Mr. Rainsy reveal every move he make? Like you said, is it just an empty threat from Mr. Rainsy in hope to reach a bargain with Hun Sen or is it sign of poor planning? Either way, Mr. Rainsy has to do a lot better in order for the people to join his Lotus Revolution. and by the way, there is a strong mood in the country to start the revolution. All it needs is a strong leader to ignite the movement.

looks like opposition party is here to stay and so does cpp, so they both should look for ways to compromise and work with each other like a real family would! these two political parties are here to stay in cambodia forever, i think! instead of fighting nonstop like children, they should look for ways to negotiate, compromise, work things out together, agree to disagree, what happens in parliament must stay in parliament, etc, etc... someone suggested for them to learn from australian political system and even american political system. why not? cambodia can sure use the australian system and american system badly, you know! be smart and wise up, ok! there are more to cambodia than just these political parties, you know! be a team, not an individual, ok!

This is very strange, In Australia, most gov't building are built for all parties, nothing to do with donors whatsoever. Why doesn't Hun Sen build hand quaters for all political parties to work with him and not against him? if he continue to do this, I am sure Hun Sen will go down very soon.
Successful is based on team works, understanding and respect for one another, why Hun Sen is soooo stupid in this governance? why can't he learn from those successful nations. Be as family, and work together in harmony. Hun Sen you better change your attitude now before it is too late.

I hope the new building location is safe and secure. First it seems like it seats next to the other building; Hun Sen can eavedrop SRP's discussion. Please make sure the contractor do not install or imbed any recording devices thru-out the building.
