A senior leader of China's Communist Party has wrapped up his visit to Cambodia where he discussed political and economic cooperation between the two nations.
Zhou Yongkang, a member of the standing committee of the party's Politburo, has met with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, King Norodom Sihamoni and leading Cambodian politicians.
During the meetings Saturday, Zhou praised what he called traditional bonds between the two nations, which he said should be passed on to future generations. He also pledged China's support for the Cambodian economy.
King Sihamoni expressed thanks for China's support in the name of the Cambodian people.
Chinese official news media say Prime Minister Hun Sen promised that Cambodia will adhere to a one-China policy.
Zhou arrived in Phnom Penh late Friday for an official visit. It is the third leg of his five-nation Asian tour, after Nepal and Laos. He is next scheduled to visit Tajikistan and Mongolia.
