Though the violence has dissipated, political space in Cambodia remains highly combative and precarious 20 years after the Paris Peace Agreements were struck in 1991.

Speaking yesterday to mark the anniversary of the accords, Sam Rainsy, the self-exiled leader of his eponymous opposition party who faces more than a decade in jail terms for offences related to border disputes and defamation, said the now dominant Cambodia People’s Party had killed the spirit of the agreements.

Via video link from Paris, Sam Rainsy urged his supporters to uproot the more than 300 demarcation posts along the Cambodian-Vietnamese border, claiming they contravened the territorial sovereignty guaranteed by the accords.

The UN’s Special Rapporteur for Human Rights in Cambodia, Surya Subedi said the accords “started the process of bringing peace to Cambodia after two decades of conflict”.

The accords ushered in the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia and the still contentious 1993 UN-monitored elections.

Senior CPP lawmaker Cheam Yeap said the “anniversary is the day that the CPP made a sacrifice for the nation and united all Cambodians who had been split into many groups into one Khmer [nation]”.

What will the dictator do, if 300 protestors and supporters and human right activists, uproot 300 demarcation posts? Will Hun Sen send them to exile?

Hun Sen is charismatic and more friendly and popular with the peasants with its peasant roots. He made war, and he has been on the battlefield, he has a political vision more modern and constructive about the reality of social, economic and international policy of the country.
He is intelligent and clever. In subjects he does not know, he knows surrounded by the disinterested and best advisors and experts.

In 20 years, much progress was made in many areas with Hun Sen, Cambodia has changed completely appearance in matters of economic and social development and on the International plan.

The people are not fooled, they can judge what is good or bad for the country. That's why they vote for the CPP.

Sam rainsy is part of the rich, and upper class, he has no root peasant,he never knew the war, he has never been on any battlefield, he is a privileged person compared to millions of Khmer at the country.
The khmer people majority in the countryside do not like him, despite his demagoguery and he undertaking manipulating of public opinion with its nationalist, archaic rhetoric trying to create fear and people's uprising.

Because the Khmer people is not fooled by its nationalist rhetoric, opportunist and calculating which aims
especially to make him win elections but will not change the economic, the social and the internal and external policies of the country. Its program of economic and social policy is desperately empty.

For sam rainsy, it is soon the end of a political career ambitious but punctuated of failure and for his supporters the end of a great illusion. So Sam Rainsy, before the end of the end, has tried to do everything to avoid falling into oblivion. The latest find for him and his supporters is the Paris Agreements 1991 to try to change the political situation compromised of its party which is sinking by settling today as the only defender of the territorial integrity of Cambodia while this Paris agreement is old for more than 20 years and which interests any more the superpowers.

But gradually the silence will fall on sam rainsy. Now he is already retired.

With the twilight of his political career approaching, it only remained for Sam Rainsy to see that he is a small politician without wingspan, without charisma.

It's the end of a magician sam rainsy who claims to bring a miracle to Cambodia and the total collapse of his illusionists supporters.

O, Cheam Yeap, we have Oct 23 because too many vietnames died during the war and the resistance movements almost took Phnom Penh. Your boss HUn Sen afraided he would have bad luck like Gadafi that time. That is why Vietname withdraw from Cambodia.

In 20 years, much progress was made in many areas with Hun Sen such as, high level of human abuse, force house eviction, human trafficking, poor living standard, high inflation rate, corruptions and abuse of law, government coverup lies and deceit, government officials involvement and murders, fears of invasion, lost of lands and land heritage.

In 30 years, is CAmbodia now, the Richest country in Asia? and in 30 years, is CAmbodia now getting bigger? Did Hun Sen save Cambodia or destroy Cambodia?
