You have forgotten to mention that without the French Colonial Intervention in Cambodia, there is no present Cambodia!
King Angdoung asked for the French intervention to save Cambodia from being swallowed by the Thais and the Vietnamese.
So without the French nothing was left anyway!

I am just wondering why the KR tried so hard to kill the rest of the remaining Toul Sleng prisoners before they left in a hurry to the Thai border and then stayed there to fight the Vietnamese army if they were Vietnamese imposters, it is kind of strange that they stayed in the camps along the Thai-Cambodian border to fight the Vietnamese occupation forces till the end.
Youn here and Youn there and all I see in the killing fields was the real Khmers (KR of course) killing Khmers, chams, Youns, rich Chen, Lon Nol's soldiers, Lon Nol's officials, etc.

First, you must understand that in the last 70 years any wars in Cambodia were created by Vietnam, to make Khmers fight Khmers (Khmers Vietminh), to make Khmer kill each other. This tricky Vietnam is great at maneuvering Khmers to fight each other.
Why after 1979, Cambodia has peace?
Cambodia has peace because Vietnam has installed a puppet government to follow strictly its orders. During this peace, look at the exploitation of Khmer natural resource by Vietnam, the mass influx of Vietnamese into Cambodia, Hun Sen's ratification of Koh Trol to Vietnam, land and maritime border encroachment by Vietnam, etc...
If the CPP lost the election, Vietnam will lose full control of Cambodia. Then you will see immediately a new fake civil war deploys by Vietnam. The ultimate goal of Vietnam is to make Khmer people suffer until Vietnam gets all Khmer land.
So, you should think about what I just said. Is it true or not?
Concerning the opposition parties, if they are nationalist, they should put their self interest behind by integrating their party into the existing big party. Forget about those dawn small difference.
Look at the US which has over 300 million people, how many political parties do they have?
I am a Khmer and I am not belonged to any political parties, but I must say that Kem Sokha is simply a piece of shit right now. What is wrong when his party joins Sam Rainsy party and after Sam Rainsy wins the election, he breaks away from Sam Rainsy and create another party? If Sam Rainsy does not do a good job, his new party will have a chance to win. Can Kem Sokha do that to avoid playing Vietnam’s game?
I am so sick and tired with those dumb and selfish Khmer politicians who unconsciously serve the expansionist Vietnam interest.
Wake up Mr. Kem Sokha and reevaluate your strategy. Lose to Khmer is better than lose to Vietnam and lose Cambodia to Vietnam.

You can blame the Vietnamese all you want the same as the Tibetans blame the Chinese and also the same way the American natives accusing the white of taking their land.
The fact is if the Khmers can't be united starting from your Mr. Sam then, forget it!
You go to Cambodia and try to convince your relatives there first and if some of them don't believe you and still vote for the CPP, then I rest my case!

Look for a book by Mr. Bun Chanmol with a title of "Charek Khmer" and read it and if you can't, get someone who can read it read it to you.
By the way even FUNCINPEC is split!

Why Pol Pot sent a lot of Pol Pot troops or Khmer Rouge troops to attacked and liberated Koh Trol from yuon occupation after 17 April 1979 ?
whatever! you don't understand because you never lived under the KR rule. or you would've think differently if you lived under the KR then. did sam rainsy ever live under the KR rule? if you can't answer this question, you do not know what it was like to survived the KR rule, ok! maybe you are the KR supporter! you should go to answer the court!
