Are you sure about the year 1806?

The photography history:

The photography as a usable process goes back to the 1820s with the development of chemical photography. The first permanent photo etching was an image produced in 1822 by the French inventor Nicéphore Niépce, but it was destroyed by a later attempt to duplicate it.

So the technology would not come to Cambodia maybe at least another 10 years.

Your question is very interesting.

At the bottom of the Wat Phnom Photo, it is written in red color: 1806. I will post another one that you can see the letters in red color at the bottom of the photo.

Made in 1825 by Nicephore Niepce, this is the oldest known photo in the world. The image is a graving on a metal plate, created by modifying the soil by the sun light.
So in 1806 the photography was not invented yet.

i was thinking the same thing! what 1806? Daguerrotype wasn't invented yet! more like 1906
