the reality is how many time cambodia pardoned sam rainsy, and he still kept on violating the law, then ran away to hide in his second home country in france. imagine if he was the prime minister of cambodia, when something is going on in cambodia, he'll run away to hide overseas like some other incompetent, coward people in other countries. that's why cambodia and khmer would rather prefer someone they can trust and someone that will stay in cambodia like a serious marriage through sick and wellness, throught tough time and good time, always together with cambodia in cambodia, not run away and hide like some kind of a dictators of other countries did. these kind of people learned bad behavior, so of course, cambodia and khmer people in cambodia don't want or don't need that kind of incompetent, ineffective, weak type of leaders again, you know. cambodia prefers a strong, experienced leader(s) who are educated, experienced and skillful and who can unite cambodia, not divide cambodia. i don't think sam rainsy fit that category, really! he's only good for his own good, not for cambodia; he'll uses cambodia instead, then run away and hide in france. i think they should make law to prevent those who want to participate in khmer politics to hold duel citizenship with another country, etc, really.

it is like cambodia is hiring the leaders. they need to meet the qualifications like having variety of education, social skills, life experience, good communication skills, ability to get along with others, ability to work under pressure, ability to bring people together like in unity, ability to understand and respect the law, not bias, not prejudice, not discriminatory, not ignorant, not stupid, no duel citizenship need not apply here, ability to follow rule of law, no criminal background of any sort even corruption, no polygamy is allowed for this position, and must speak clear, fluent khmer, etc, etc... i mean the list is long and endless, really. this is what cambodia and the good khmer people and citizens required! so far, sam rainsy failed most of these requirements already, you know!

Your English Sucks but I agreed with you on your analysis.
The nationalists are frustrated and they anxious to unite all Khmers. The enemy watching them closely and they drafted a new strategy to eliminate SRP.
The US helped Vietnam to complete this strategy of unifying Khmers in order to eliminate SRP.
Vietnam wants SRP out, and why the US helps Vietnam on this? Because the US does not want Vietnam to go with China.
Sam Rainsy already knew, but he has no alternative way to refuse. If he refused all sides will condemn him that he is trying to destroy Khmers from uniting.
